He doesnt care, thats on the people of Utah
Get over it, Utah. You love them rightwing ways with environment.

Becuase, fuck everything
I just wanna know how fast can they build that much infrastructure just to run the dang thing power plants aren’t cheap and take years and I already know the state is gonna foot the bill. I just wanna know what’s gonna happen to it after the bubble pops.
When are the governments gonna stop these data centre builds? It’s not good for the people or the environment.
Dude has never experienced the west. Utah will not be a dark sky park anymore with the data centers. Utah doesn’t have water, the desert is a fragile ecosystem. All data centers are resource sinks. They need to disclose how much resources they use.
Literally captain planet villain shit
The worst Shark.
What the fuck are we doing? Kevin O’Leary was talking about how the protestors were from Utah like he was born and raised there.
I hope Utahn’s wake up on all the right wing shit, but I’m not holding my breath.
That much heat seems like it will alter the weather in Utah and elsewhere.
Maybe a stupid question, but why cant they recycle that heat and turn it back into electricity. Isn’t that the basics of how many power plants work? Heat water, turn to steam, steam moves turbine, turbine makes power. Even if its really in efficient the heat from 23 atom bombs should at least be able to microwave up some bagle bites.
That is assuming that this will even be built by the time the AI boom ends and is also highly dependent on who the next president is and what changes they make
Every single thing I read about Utah makes me think they’re trying as hard as they can to empty out the state of its residents.
Need to internalize your externalities bro!
I wonder if this will also bring up the fact over 75% of utahs water is wasted on alfalfa too! We are in a manufactured drought and now they really want to speedrun to jesus returning! 🙃
23 atom bombs a day is one of those claims that instantly flag hyperbolic nonsense
>The preliminary analysis warns that the project’s thermal footprint could significantly alter local temperatures and environmental conditions, particularly at night when temperature inversions trap heat within the valley. Davies found that the plant could raise daytime temperatures throughout Hansel valley by 2℉- 5℉, and could raise nighttime temperatures by 8℉- 12℉.
>A permanent rise in nighttime temperatures of this magnitude would suppress the valley’s natural nighttime condensation cycle—a key source of moisture for desert ecosystems, significantly increasing evaporation and drying across the basin, the report says. Over time, sustained warming and drying could fundamentally alter the valley’s ecosystem, leading to the disappearance of biological soil crusts, the loss of sage-grouse winter habitat, failures in native sagebrush regeneration, the spread of invasive cheatgrass, increased wildfire risk, and accelerating erosion throughout the valley.

Utah sold themselves out
Good luck with that. For 9GW you are looking at a decade plus to get that kind of power set up. Construction of the data center even in the best case scenarios will take the better part of a decade too.
Aside from the mountain of obstacles in their way before even turning on their first rack, where exactly are you going to get all your hardware? You’re at the back of a long ass line and paying out the ass for something that is not going to probably ever make a dollar.
The pessimistic side of my self is saying that these guys are looking to load up on these projects, and when it all goes tits up, is looking for Daddy Trump to bail them out and somehow when the dust clears they will be running away with trillions of dollars in taxpayer money with bunch of empty data center shells all over the country.
Waiting for the trickle down economy, Big Reagan.
But remember to not use plastic drinking straws.
is that bad? it sounds bad… did he break it? did he win capitalism at least?….
Can’t blame him when the people of Utah allowed it to take place
Atom bombs is an interesting unit of measure. Can they put it in units of cheeseburgers?
Another totally rewritten headline, but none of you care.
Let me propose a better idea.
Kevin O’Leary can go fuck off back to Canada.
Which idea do you like more?
So, uh, good luck with that, Utah.
At what point do we just start taking physical action? Like, seriously? Do we wait until they’ve killed 90% of the earth?
Wallstreet Millenial did a great video on why this will never happen is a complete scam like most of OLeary’s ventures
Well let’s hope nobody sets it on fire and it burns down.
That would be tragic.
One could argue destroying these things is just self defence
Who comes up with that „23 atom bombs a day“ as a reference point for people to process? The amount of heat from an atom bomb is something people can’t comprehend already.
All data centers in the US including non-AI data centers equal to less than 30GW.
Just to get the GPUs to build this would require him having 100% of 4 years of all of Nvidia’s output. I believe Nvidia production is sold out through 2028.
In short, he’s completely full of BS. He’d be competing with Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Meta and Amazon, in aggregate spending about $600 billion this year and closer to $900 billion next year, for chips. At best he’s going to build some empty buildings with no servers.
If the people don’t stop them they will literally eat the children of Utah
Lemme guess, his company will go public without a plan, sell a bunch in IPO, and silently fold like the last multi gigawatt startup did.
This is bullshit. The AI industry, its backers, and media cheerleaders have made up most of the narrative of massive data centers requiring vast amounts of power to feed the AI hype machine. The truth is that the demand is not going to be there for a long time. The CPUs, GPUs, and RAM cannot be produced even if the data centers can. And even with Microsoft, Meta, Alphabet, and Amazon in the game the money isn’t there. It’s all lies cooked up to inflate the bubble some more.
