Remind me, how many flights in orbit and back that technological miracle had?

I get the Soviet Union was a terrible place where people queued for hours at the shop with no meat, only to go queue for hours at the shop for no bread later, but could it not have lived for another decade or so just for Buran? Please?

Oh man, this is literally my childhood. I grew up in that area and went to this park countless times.
Imagine my disappointment when I found out that this is just a mock-up with (I believe?) a restaurant inside. I don’t think it’s even a proper test article.
Still, I think it sparked my interest in spaceflight at that point, even though I didn’t become a hardcore fan until 2019.
I can’t believe these went on to put the ISS and Hubble in space.

If Russia still doesn’t want anything to do with it, it should be sent to the Smithsonian for restoration and display. It’s still a fascinating piece of history that should be preserved. Each tool for space exploration is one less bomb which contributes to humanity’s peaceful exploration and learning.
