Without looking it up, I’m guessing:

– Austria is mentioned with regard to Austria-Hungary

– Turkey is mentioned with regard to warring with the Ottomans

– Mongolia might have something to do with…the Huns/the steppe origins of the Magyars? Not entirely sure there

Hungarian is a distinctly different language from all its neighbors, if I recall correctly. Guess where its roots are.

Aren’t Hungarians descendants of the Huns? And weren’t the Huns called Xiongnu in China?
