People have been tired of America’s shenanigans for ages now. Not just currently. This article frames it in a way that only now are people fatigued but “they also can’t ignore America”. Propaganda piece.

    2. I was actively searching for chrome plug-ins and android apps that completely block headlines from the US. Everyone I talk about is disgustingly sick of hearing 1.5 year everyday from this pdf circus. Their hegemony is in its sunset, the whole world realised that they are unreliable, backstabbing partners and every 4 years a roulette rolls like jekyl/hyde. Iran also shown that you dont have to defeat the US, as long as you make them kick the hornet’s nest and just hodl.

Europe is investing in its long term self-reliance, China as always winning ground in the background quietly and Russia, well, they’re exhausted and depleted no matter how well they try to hide it. 4 years war, global sanctions and 1million casualties with little to show will do that to you.

      My summary of the article:

The world is tiring of the US under Trump’s leadership, with only 45% approving of the country compared to 76% in 2024, and these polls were taken before the recent ICE crackdown in Minneapolis, Iran war, and threats on Greenland. 82% of countries now have a negative view of the US, and Trump is the least popular leader in the world, polling significant worse than even Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.

This contrasts to the 20th century, especially after WW2, when the US helped rebuild war-torn countries and built enduring democracies in former enemy countries. However, this dip in popularity could change. The image of the US took a big hit to its image under President George W Bush and jumped back up under Obama.

    4. I mostly read Dutch and Belgian news sources, and recently noticed the latter has a newsletter specifically for US news. My first thought was, do we really need this?

Then I realized, presumably enough people are reading these stories if the news agencies keep spending the time and energy to write them. Otherwise why bother?

    5. Global fatigue. The media like Deutsche Welle here love Trump more than anyone. Even when he pause pulling stunt, they would still write op-eds and push them every where. Talking about fatigue.

And their readers. Stop para-socialling. You’re not American. LOL

    6. difficult to give an accurate portrayal, i mean Trumps the dumbest Mammal on the planet and his cohort seem to be in the same bracket, but outside the US most people have no idea how any of this is actually affecting society as whole. Every country has edited news and media (MSM and social media) and the US is too large a country to start digging around for decent independent new sources.

    7. In my experience it’s more like a car crash. You don’t necessarily want to look, but also can’t look away (cause possibly another car crashes that then careens towards you)

    8. Samplesize N=1; Actively working on migrating away from US based SaaS products.

    9. Canadian here. We are exhausted. Many of my American friends would say how exhausted they were during his first term. He didn’t affect us much then. Now he’s a threat and can’t be ignored.
