    1. > “When I hear people talk about, ‘Oh, the stars of the future are going to be influencers,’ I go, ‘I don’t know what world you’re living in, but I think that that is absolute horseshit,’” Downey said.

      > “[My 14-year-old son] kinda got caught up in this whole influencer thing, and next thing you know, it’s like, ‘Hey, if you like the way I’m playing this video game, do you wanna send me a donation?’ And really, it becomes a religion,” the actor continued. “So there’s something about the influencers today that are almost like the Evangelical hucksters of the information age. At the same token, it’s different because we’re playing in this new territory and so it’s a little bit of a frontier and I don’t really have a judgment on it. I also know when I am promoting a film now I’ve gotten to know a few of these influencers and I find many of them grounded, accomplished, cool people.”

I didn’t realize the title was censored at first, and I think I’m going to start using „horses“ like that

      Absolute horses.

    3. Influencers no. YouTube personalities that actually contribute and create, probably.

    4. There are no stars of the future. Everyone will have a few micro celebs in separate niches but we’ll never see the star power of the past again

We just trained AI to be influencers. There will be no humans left on these platforms. We are letting the rich get insanely rich, meanwhile having full control of culture and societal influence.

Too late, unfortunately influencers sell an illusion to their fans that’s more appealing & accessible. Some of them have more followers and live lifestyles that are now more appealing to the masses. Not everyone can be a movie star/celebrity, but a lot of ppl can monetize off of their personal business, sell products, and personality gaining popularity(which seems to be what some regular ppl care about). Ppl who follow influencers aren’t worried about talent tbh. Not saying I agree, but it’s facts.

Seems a bit arrogant coming from a big star… just saying. Dont forget Aubrey Plaza started on Youtube. Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran started on YouTube. Brandon Rogers got his big break from his youtube videos. If you don’t like a medium that’s ok. But dont forget, you were once a nothing like the rest of us.

    8. It’s already happening tbf.

Events are hiring influencers as hosts and they’re attracting a big draw for audiences.

    9. Agree. Influencers are full of shit and their window is closing. They are con artists.

I would disagree with him, but Ishowspeed came to here this week and he pretty much stopped the whole capital and everyone went ballistic for him, so I would say they are the current stars

    11. It’s really not.

It’s a way to find talent. People put out videos of themselves. It’s basically audition tapes that are half filtered by the public. Just gotta make sure they can actually act too.

He isn’t wrong. AI is writing their scripts already. Next step is a saved character and prompts
