If I got that right, the data is from 2016. Could it have changed a lot in 10 years or not really?

21% for the UK seems rather high… the vast majority of people are anti MGM.

The US medical establishment is weirdly pro-curcumcision and I don’t get why

Why is South Korea’s number so high? So different from neighboring countries.

Broadly speaking it’s Muslim majority countries and North America, Muslims I get, it’s for religious reasons but what what’s going on in the US and Canada?

    6. I moved to the US when I was 18. I didn’t even know circumcision was a thing until I had sex for the first time was told I was uncut.

    7. I didn’t even realize I had been cut until I was 30. I thought I was normal lol.

I would assume that 14% in France is it’s muslim and Jewish population but still it seems pretty high imo.

Makes one wonder what was the factor that brought this idea about. The religious history aside. Then again people used to sacrifice their offspring. Humanity has come a long way.

      Was it someone into mutilation?
      Sacrifice?
      Cleanliness?(less access to water)
Maybe painful bed activities because genetics carried it tight? Phimosis sorta thing.
      Someone used the skin?
It really makes you wonder what the fudge was the thoughts around this.

Why does Sudan show a huge difference compared to all Middle Eastern countries?

I don’t understand why they would do that to a child, it’s like putting a tattoo on a baby and expecting it to be socially acceptable.

In my country, only the Jewish do it. And not all of them, only the practitioners.

It should be noted that although circumcision is widespread among Muslims, it is not strictly obligatory in Islam. Circumcision is not mentioned in the Qur’an, only in religious traditions about the life of the Prophet. Many Muslims in Russia (my parents were among them) refuse to circumcise their children because it is not prescribed by the Qur’an. Our clergy say circumcision is good, but those who do not want it are not obligated to undergo it. I have heard that there are even some radical-minded theologians who consider circumcision sinful.

    15. It is funny how it relates to my view of the country, craziness. Religion is fulfilling its purpose.

It’s sad that circumcision continues and that in the U.S. there is so much misinformation. I’ve done foreskin restoration and saw large benefits.

In the U.S. there is a lot of one sided information where they give disputed claims as facts and only present “benefits” of cutting but never the downsides such as reduced sensation or loss of the gliding sheath mechanism, or bodily autonomy issues where statistically boys won’t choose to get cut themselves if given that right.
