>With gas prices continuing to surge, more than 8 in 10 Americans said pain at the pump is putting a strain on their household budgets — and a strong majority blames President Trump, according to the latest NPR/PBS News/Marist poll.
The fucked up thing is that I’m sure even this clusterfuck won’t destroy the long persisting and completely outdated myth about Republicans and the economy.

It hit $4.50 per gallon here in VA yesterday. Does anyone here believe Trump is NOT responsible for this? Please speak up.

His level of patience and understanding surprises me from what I heard spew from him years ago when Biden invaded Ukraine /s

Finally, it’s not Clinton, Obama or Bidens fault.

It requires that people actually vote…
People are great at posting. They are great about expressing contempt.
Shit at actually being registered and actually showing up and voting

Oil companies are making millions /billions today. People seem to forget that „ending the war“ will not bring gas prices down immediately, the cost in Middle East are based on future price. Trump will pretend that his „ending the war“ is an automatic reset for gas prices at the pump.

I remember seeing all the „i did that“ Biden stickers on gas pumps 3-4 years ago. We need the Trump sticker now.
Just paid $6.19/gal for Premium in Ohio.

Media: High gas prices and ongoing turmoil in the Middle East could mean multiple flipped seats for the Democrats.
Supreme Court: Hold my beer.

I wonder how these gas prices haven’t put a wrench in the entire economy at this point. I guess 30% of us keep spending and prop up the economy overall.

Paid $4.75/gal yesterday. Six weeks ago it was $3.45, a year ago it was $2.65

Maybe Trump is being blamed…cause it is his f***ing fault??

They’ll probably make it illegal to display gas prices from the road

You cannot trust any poll at this point, the US electorate is so propagandized and brainwashed by their mainstream media, that by November all will be forgotten and turned into a winning slogan for MAGA. The electorate will vote them in again and again.

Republicans keep saying they care about the economy, but they’re silent when their guy is driving up costs at the pump.

Never in my life has a president had such a direct impact on gas prices than Trump’s second term. I never blamed a president for gas rising directly ever until now.

midterm edge. It should be a fucking midterm chasm. Who are these people who still find Trump to be the least bit effective at his job?

It’s amazing to me, what is finally changing voter sentiment is high gas prices. Americans seemed to be OK with racism, sexism homelessness, poverty. But hey, don’t make us pay more for gas.

I was a long proponent of „The President doesn’t directly affect gas prices“ but I was starkly corrected when Trump started a war crippling the oil industry without congressional approval. I’ve updated my stance to „A President who follows the law doesn’t directly affect gas prices“

Normally, I agree the president doesnt‘ control gas prices.
EXCEPT in this case…literally they are only rising BECAUSE of the president.
It’s all the war and not the act of…but the reprecussions.
This is vietnam, if vietnam controlled US citizens spending capital.

I can’t wait 6 more months of this. I want the mid terms tomorrow.
I cling to the hope that Democrats take Congress and get that fascist pig out of office.

I mean who tf else is to blame this is one of the VERY few times you can single handedly blame the sitting president for sky rocketing fuel and grocery prices as a direct result of whatever completely pointless confrontation we just had was. Gas prices were at 2.63 a few months ago, groceries were FINALLY getting a little lower. Then he’s single handedly ruined that for the foreseeable future.

I like that „republican blamed for something they obviously caused“ is headline news in the US.
