Senior UCP staff caught red handed working directly with the separatists, not just to illegally access this database, but to do so in order to promote secession. I kind of doubt Nenshi’s ability to make use of this though, even as a UCP operative went to considerable risk to leak it to him, he still thinks of this first as a decorum crime against Jason Kenney and not an active political project to literally destroy the country.

If this is the case and there is video evidence, then this referendum should not go forward at all. It is tainted by corruption and incompetence, and the UCP’s already thin attempts at appearing pro-Canada or even impartial are getting thinner by the day.

The conservative political establishment in Alberta has been comprised for quite sometime. You’ll notice all these maple MAGA figures trace their political origins to the Manning Centre, where they cultivated this grievance based political strategy in Canada. Through the same well funded establishment reform channels rebranding and branching off countless times, the same people making new projects and social media groups on a regular basis as they fall afoul of the law. It’s a well oiled, and well funded political machine that’s simply available to the highest bidder.
The same people who helped organize the convoy, the same people who started the Canadian yellow vest movement. It’s the same plan, just repeated and each time they seem to gain more momentum as laws seem unable to stop them from pushing the boundaries and exploiting legal loopholes.
Even Tamera Lich was involved with CP for goodness sake.

Falling into the same trap as liberals (Democrats) in the U.S.
Everyone is already aware that the UCP are corrupt and despotic. Now they have the media attention instead of the Alberta NDP, who don’t appear to have any recognizable platform.
People want a party that stands for something, not one that is defined by being the absence of their competition.
