I wouldn’t let him fiddle near my kids!

The fiddle diddler strikes again
***“Do not fiddle kids, it’s no good fiddlin‘ kids“***
He writes little ditties, he is not a little Diddy
I was told that the iterative next word predictor made no mistakes. And that it was smart.
How did this happen ? A rebalance of the Markov next word weights will fix it for sure!
Hope he wins quickly and decisively, Google did not even acknowledge the screw up or even apologize.
Seeing the sad little jokes in the comments just illustrates the harm this can do to innocent people. I bet these comedy channel rejects did not even read the article.
My cousin ran for election a few years ago, and to this day blames his loss on google. If you googled his name, the top result was a news article about a guy with the same name that pulled a knife on an ambulance crew and took the ambulance for a joyride.
This is much worse.
Google’s AI Overview about MacIsaac now includes the statement: “In late 2025 and 2026, he made headlines for taking legal action against Google.”
lol
Google will quietly settle and this guy will take home a bag.
„Oh he was a *fiiiiiddlleeeeer*. A **fi**ddler. Ooooooh my baaaad.“ Google, probably.
So they just play the fiddle?
I mean that would be slander if a newspaper did it and Google own their AI
A human would know not to think „fiddler“ meant offender.
He’s a fiddle fiddler, not a kiddie fiddler!
$1.5 million doesn’t seem like enough
Fiddler, not diddler.
This makes it sound like it was just “some fiddler”, but it was Ashley MacIssac who was pretty big there for a short period of time in the mid-90’s
I suspect it ended up merging/mistaking his info for this [other MacIsaac](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/41-year-old-man-charged-with-internet-luring-1.753480) from Atlantic Canada.
Man, people need to be taught asap how a large language models work. With crayons if necessary. Including the fools who decided to put it right under the search bar as a result.
I guess it doesn’t help that I quickly read the headline and thought he was labeled “diddler” not a fiddler 🤦♂️
Valid reason to sue.
Diddler, fiddler, tomato, tomato
He has drunkenly pissed on the audience from onstage.
Leave it to AI to confuse fiddler with diddler.
These are results for *“canadian diddler“*
Search instead for *“canadian fiddler“*
Holy shit I used to listen to so much of his stuff when I was a teenager
tbf “the canadian fiddler” does sound like a pedophile
Simply add this custom filter to your ublock origin to remove Google AI overview: google.com/#%23.hdzaWe
Then it won’t waste your screen real estate.
He’s a fiddler, not a diddler!
No no no, that’s the Canadian Diddler.
Tbh fair it’s my fault. If I don’t like an artist or content or video I submit a sexual abuse or violence or content flag. It’s the only fucking way to get YouTube and google to stop showing content I refuse to watch. It doesn’t matter if I thumb down or dislike or anything. It always comes back. Submitting sexual anything flag makes it go away forever.
These lawsuits are going to be interesting. With how Google search used to work Google would not be responsible for the results on 3rd party sites. Now these overviews are Google’s content so they should be liable.
It would be funny if that one fact is what kills AI overviews instead of them just being crap.
