      I’m beginning to think Russia only uses the threat of nukes, because in reality all of their weapons are ancient and likely unserviceable.

      anyway, what with there being no military equipment to put on display because it’s all either tied up in the war or already destroyed, looks like the parade has already been ruined.

      Maybe the kids they shove in uniforms won’t be quite as good at marching as previous parade members… that’d be fun.

      No need to bomb the parade. Do a massive bombing campaign everywhere else possible while it is going on though. Especially if the explosions can be heard during the parade. Let Putin stand there with a shit-eating grin while everyone looks around wondering what is blowing up.

      As a Ukrainian, I feel way safer now.

      Russians don’t threat when they can do harm, they just murder and destroy and then bargain for they price to stop. When they start threating, it just means they can’t do anything.

      They already canceled all the vehicles for this year’s parade because they can’t spare any for a pointless exhibition of Putin’s ego. Ukraine ruined the parade by removing the illusion of a vast, competent Russian army.

      Putin will never, ever fire a nuclear missile at anyone unless Moscow itself is surrounded by hostile forces and about to be wiped out – and maybe not even then.

      Not only does that missile have a huge chance of being taken down by Ukraine’s excellent air defenses, but there will also be an IMMEDIATE nuclear response that’s likely to escalate into a full-blown nuclear armageddon. Like, if you’re a Russian general, would you nuke Kyiv fully knowing that Moscow is getting nuked right back? Would you make that choice? And all because of a fucking military parade?

      Putin may be a lot of things, but he’s no fool. He knows that there isn’t a thing he can do to stop Ukraine from attacking his parade. That’s why he’s resorting to these empty threats. It’s all he has in this situation.
