      Surprised it’s taken this long. I’d have thought the oligarchs would have been rightly pissed a while ago and looking for ways to end the mess he’s dragged them into.

      *Begins* to? Either that’s not true or the dude has seriously lost his edge. Pretty sure an ex intelligence officer who regularly has people he knows fall out of windows should have been acutely aware of this possibility for a while.
      But I guess the chances of it actually happening do seem to be increasing.

      Honestly, if I was in security in any country, I feel like this is a possibility that would keep me up at night. I really think drone terrorism is more a matter of “if” than “when.” Look at Ukraine’s long range drone attacks with drones deploying from trucks inside Russia. Now, yes, there was a whole country with a military and intelligence apparatus working to make that happen, but drone technology and tactics are advancing every day.

      It’s the obvious next step. If you have a string of them they can get through buildings, get through armoured cars, get through a throng of bodyguards trying to bustle him away.

      Even a peaceful leader begets the malice of wrongdoers. A man singularly responsible for several hundred thousand Russian lives does not deserve any kind of peace and nor do the people who supported him into power.
