I don’t care about saving a few thousand dollars… I’d never even CONSIDER driving a Musk mobile. I can’t understand how some people completely lack integrity.

    Still not supporting that ahole

Still not the cheapest EV in Canada thanks to the rebate (EV4 still is)

  3. >Tesla’s RWD variant for the Model 3 will start at $39,490 CAD

Still too much. I only drive < 10,000km per year so I’m looking to spend only $30k.

I won’t take a Tesla for free at this point.

    Musk can get fucked.

I want BYD or other Chinese brands. I don’t want Elon Musk’s trash here

These are not the Chinese EVs I want to see on our streets

That said they’re probably better built than the NA ones

If this is the price now, imagine what the price would be when the actual Chinese manufacturers are here to compete

  8. This just prove the point that tarif does not work. American car are not competitive with the Chinese car industry. The American car industry is going to shrink because they cannot export anymore.

Wow only 39k? I’m buy a bunch for my fleet, that’s a steal
Edit: Premium model too, I’m buying for sure today. 39k for a 0-100 of that seconds that’s just wild

  12. This is what desperation looks like. Cutting the price in half and removing American auto jobs.

    Pathetic.

We have one at work and I hate it. The UI is god awful. Not to mention that I’ll never support anything associated with Elon Musk.

  14. Thankfully reddit is not real life. Anyone in the market for a new car this is immediately one of the top options (as long as you can charge at home).
Highest trim Corolla is more expensive than this model 3

One of my happiest days was when the CarMax tow truck took away my Tesla. When I learned he was a fascist, I sold mine. Happy with my Hyundai Ioniq 5.

I would never buy a Tesla for many reasons but it’s great if it brings other EV prices down. I would love to see with the Chinese brand EVS are going to be like.

  17. Lets put everything aside and just talk about spec and price.

It is a lot of car for the price no doubt and arguably best budget EV on the new market right now.

Obviously youd need to factor how much you value NOT driving a Tesla, I wouldnt personally as I already own another EV but no doubt would be interesting to see how much their sales affect by that.

And their base model is very durable, its not without reason most gig worker drive Tesla.

  18. /r/canada: We demand cheap EVs from China!! Fuck overpriced US brands!

    *cheap EVs arrive*

    /r/canada: No not like that!!

No thanks, the price drop will last until you are stuck with it, and then the subscription features will begin.

Plus, Elon is a piece of shit and these cars lock you in and burn you alive.

reddit is an echo chamber does not represent the real life. people buying teslas left n right. its a good car, good price, people will buy.

  21. MrAmusedDouche on

According to the article the model 3 used to start at $80k, which sounds unfathomable to me. Can anyone confirm this?

  22. motherseffinjones on

One thing I’m not doing is buying a Tesla I can promise you that

  23. has their QA gone up? because I hear those things rattling around on the street now after a few years
