In the UK we have a pre-existing holiday on 1st May. Also screw the workers, what have the workers ever done for society? When will we commemorate the poor generationally wealthy?

  2. Most of the countries in white celebrate it year round considering they’re the countries that employ more immigrants than any country in red.

  3. To be completely fair, other countries have holiday variants that align with the concept of International Worker’s Day, like Labour Day in Australia

In the UK we’ve got a similiar thing on the first Monday of May instead, always a 3 day weekend

  5. Ill be honest I get 13 paid holidays in the US and Labor day, which is a day for workers is one of them so I can’t complain

Or, the countries that matter celebrate Labour Day in September after the summer holiday season.

Why did whoever made this map (crudely) add a second red country over the original country instead of just coloring the original country red, lol?

  8. What’s happening at Greenland’s coastline? Why are they not enjoying the holiday like the rest of Greenland?

On April 28th in Canada we take a moment of silence at 11 to reflect on all the workers who lost their lives either at work or due to work related illness.

And we also have may long weekend/Victoria Day in the middle of May.

It’s Labour Day in most states in Australia on Monday, it’s a public holiday. In the states it’s not a holiday they have a holiday for it later in the year

NZ is either left out of maps, or incorrectly categorised.
Labour Day in NZ is in October.

Labour Day in Japan is also technically November 23rd. May 1st has demonstrations, but it’s not a public holiday.

Its worth looking up why the world has this date on may 1st, and the US does not. Hint: the US specifically avoided this date.

  15. “In 1958, United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared May 1st “Law Day” to further suppress the populist celebrations (May day) on that date. To divide Americans from the rest of the world, our celebration of labor was scheduled for the first Monday of September”

New Zealand absolutely does not observe a holiday on 1 May.

We have Labour Day on the last Monday of October.

Middle East be like: celebrate them? Aren’t we supposed to work them to death?

  18. Many people worked on May 1st in my country. Government offices are closed, nut not for workers. I really hate employers and governments.

Why are Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh shown separately? Arunachal Pradesh is completely under Indian control, but at least show the parts of Kashmir that are within India in color.

Apparently we don’t anymore in Chile as our far-right government changed it to „National Work Day“. A bit nazi if you ask me.
