    1. Can confirm. Am Exhausted.
For me it’s constant stress from one area of my life or another. Also our brains are getting constantly worked at a high level with very few breaks.

    2. Yep. I also agree with all of the other commenters. I’m very exhausted. Nonstop stress, work contracts not working out for reasons outside my control, *waves hands* everything else going on…

Man I live under an actual dictatorship and I’d rather be here than in America. rough work

I’ve been waiting for a respite since the pandemic. My favorite conspiracy theory is that we all died during covid and that this is hell.

Yep exhausted… frustrated… working hard… these assholes keep moving the goal post. Tired of this rigged up bullshit game.

I’m surprised the CDC was allowed to report this. Yeah, $4 gas before Memorial Day weekend, grocery prices up by 1/3, and a pedophile shitbag who is allowed to say and do anything without repercussions keeping all media attention on him. It’s exhausting.

    7. I can’t even begin to articulate how much the current administration would both be unable and unwilling to address this at all.

American’s are exhausted? Try the whole fucking world is exhausted because of America and their little friend, I think it starts with an I.

      Read the study!

This about Americans making bad sleep choices. If you don’t prioritize your health, you end up feeling shitty.

This isn’t due to life stress or anything of that nature.

These posts make me so glad I gave up higher salary in america for work/life balance in Germany. I walk my kid to school every day and am there when he gets home. Money isn’t everything.

Yes. Exhausted. Born in 83 to a disabled parent. Dad died at 9. School shootings started kicking up in HS, moved to college and 9/11 happened that week, graduated college and entered the workforce just before Great Recession, became a widow at 36, raising a child alone, now caring for an elderly parent with no assistance. About to be 43 and wondering if I will ever experience a period of life without significant turmoil. Trying my best everyday for what I have, that being said I’m genuinely exhausted and feel desperate for a break that likely isn’t coming in my lifetime.

This study is about people not getting more than 7 hours of sleep and not feeling rested. Maybe they should make Lunesta over the counter. Sure it’s habit forming and may give someone dementia if taken over the years, but it relaxes you and gives you the illusion of a good nights rest.

    13. I count myself lucky that I don’t actually mind my job that much. The part I do mind is the sheer time commitment of 40h/w that takes away all my energy while also affording me barely enough to live on. I’m definitely more fortunate than most with what I make, but it’s really not a whole lot, and all it allows me to do is to sustain myself and keep grinding. Maybe in another 15 years i’ll have enough saved up for a down payment on a house, but then mortgages, property taxes and maintenance are quite expensive too…

Even fucking ai chatbots tell me I’m depressed lol as if i didn’t know, this is a real problem and i know i’m absolutely not alone in it.

I spend all my time and energy working to afford nothing.

Yeah, so what? Are the people who could help alleviate our exhaustion going to do anything about it?

    15. Things would improve if the Congress or the Cabinet would do their damn jobs. This is how plumbers make the news.

    16. I am absolutely 100% burnt out. And I think I have been for about 7 years. 🇺🇲🫡

Jesus christ. Next we’re going to get a scientific research study telling us Americans are tired of bullshit politics.

    18. Mind you the few scientists remaining at the CDC are also traumatized and stressed 24/7.

I truly think cortisol will be our next crisis, and as someone who is in remission right now from cyclic cushings… Oh buddy. This is lifelong damage that can’t be fixed.

    20. I just thought it was me, but honestly almost everyone i know is just exhausted right now, its true. Our jobs are killing us, people are not getting along, daily political mayhem, its just too much for too long.

    21. From working our asses off for no retirement, no worthy health system and villainy in DC chocking us all out

It’s going to get worse with the last shreds of the Voting Rights Act destroyed unless we manage to all turn out in the midterms at overwhelming rates to combat extreme gerrymandering and voter suppression. Then also turn up to protest and go on national strike if they don’t seat the new Congress.

      I’m not optimistic.

Taco thanked elmo for his help fixing ‚the voting computers‘ and we decided our response would be snarky memes. This is just the beginning.
