  1. Meta hires a known scummy contractor because they are cheap, gets AI Training for their creepy ass product, then once they get some training models they fire the contractor company to pretend they care that it’s been trained on creepy and scummy stuff.

They don’t actually care. They got a chunk of training done and then tried to beat out the backlash for once to save money. It’s not like they lose all the work they had the contractors do.

Note that some of these contractors came forward to blow the whistle on what they were being asked to do (despite how little they were being paid) and were punished for it.

  3. To the surprise of nobody.

Still, Meta can Zuck all the way off, disrespectfully.

  4. Any „penalties“ they pay, will be wiped out by revenue. So are they really being punished?

  5. Some people who wear Meta glasses turned them on while having sex. I’m not sure why this is a story …?

  6. The glasses with camera thing is creeping. It’s the modern equivalent of the guy wearing mirrors on his shoes.

Meta uses bad contractor = awful bad evil

Meta stops using bad contractor = evil bad awful.

We need a new system for the world, when a news story breaks everyone should have to register their opinion on it if they want an opinion on the response to it – I’m joking of course but it would end a lot of these ‚how dare they stop doing the thing I was complaining about‘ articles.

Where were the ‚they need those jobs‘ people when everyone was saying that making them do the work was immoral?

And yes I know you’re all going to have conspiracy theories based on how you feel things probably are based on emotions you’ve developed from reading memes and headlines so you might as well just tell me whatever wild fantasies you like

Why in the fuck would anyone want a pair of “smart glasses” aka pervert glasses?

I just do not understand the want or the need for these things

  9. Which is why I never wanted this third party bullshit.  Let me have an entirely local network ecosystem that doesn’t have to call out to businesses bullshit.  Give the people a choice instead of demanding they give up every ounce of privacy to use your product.

  10. Ai glasses and vr are only for porn (in the light side of the use) and bad sexual stuff.

The rest of the uses are „nice to try once“ and completely useless, expensive, unreliable, bloated.

    > Sama employees reported that the glasses recorded banking information, private conversations, people naked in bathrooms, and intimate encounters.

Tbh it doesn’t even have to involve AI. It’s basically equivalent to a hidden camera.

  12. Interesting, I would have thought anyone wearing Meta glasses was entirely unfuckable

  13. I am paranoid that most social media is always recording my camera and microphone and storing it away forever to use against me some day.

These glasses are just a step in that direction.

  14. Meta 💯 knew about this. They get away with stuff like this by hiring contractors and isolating the legal consequences

Doesn’t this open Meta up to a class action for two party consent states?

  16. Meta is in trouble, stock prices down 10% yesterday over a terrible quarter and no plan to save themselves other than pump billions into AI. Layoffs are going to happen across the company, this is just one of the easiers fires for Meta management.

Third world people getting only $2 a day to review the most repulsive behaviors of first world people? I hate to think what that ideologically does to them.

They only record footage when asked to do so, and when asking the AI to analyze the footage. Every modern AI agent do this. AI prompts are analyzed server side. Theres a Warning to not prompt/send sensitive video/pics.

The glasses have a tiny battery. It only has about 15 minutes of battery life to record videos. You seriously think it can 24/7 video record? Nah, u just schizophrenic. Its funny how ppl are sounding like ignorant Boomers on this subject

What kind of loser is wearing sunglasses during „intimate“ moments? I assume the answer is the same kind of dipstick that would buy these in the first place.
