Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj kritisierte US-Vizepräsident JD Vance dafür, dass er den Stopp der amerikanischen Militärhilfe für die Ukraine gelobt hatte, und sagte in einem Kommentar gegenüber Newsmax, der am 29. April veröffentlicht wurde, dass diese Haltung Russland nütze und die Vereinigten Staaten schwäche.
Die Äußerungen folgen auf Vances öffentliche Verteidigung der Entscheidung der Trump-Regierung, direkte US-Waffenlieferungen nach Kiew zu stoppen, ein Politikwechsel, der Kritik hervorgerufen und die Meinungsverschiedenheiten in Washington über die Unterstützung der Ukraine deutlich gemacht hat.
"Das ist eines der Dinge, auf die ich am stolzesten bin … Wir haben Europa gesagt, wenn man Waffen kaufen möchte, kann man das, aber die USA kaufen keine Waffen mehr und schicken sie in die Ukraine." sagte Vance im April.
Selenskyj wehrte sich gegen die Äußerungen und argumentierte, dass die Verringerung der Unterstützung für die Ukraine letztendlich die Position Moskaus stärke.
"Wenn JD Vance stolz darauf ist, dass er uns nicht hilft, bedeutet das, dass er den Russen hilft, und ich bin nicht sicher, ob das die Vereinigten Staaten stärkt." Sagte Selenskyj.
"Russland ist der Feind. Sie werden immer Feinde der Vereinigten Staaten sein."

No idea why but some in this administration seem to have a real hate boner towards Ukraine.
Maybe its money from russia, maybe its influnce by Puppetmasters like Thiel or maybe it is because it was the first of Trumps promises that evaporated since Ukraine had the audacity to not just drop their weapons and give russia territory.
