      He was already going to do that, and simply uses this as an excuse. USA loves a weaker Europe, a weaker NATO and a weaker Ukraine these days.

      All that does is fuck over those Americans who have worked on those bases and have lives and families in Germany. And there is a lot of them.

      They should reduce the number of troops in Germany. This continuation of the post-war agreement to subjugate Germany needs to end. 

      If they want to have a higher presence after this part of it is gone, so be it. But Germany is still somewhat being punished militarily for its actions in 1939-45. 

      Germany has moved on, it deserves to be treated accordingly.

      This is a deliberate fight because Trump wants to leave NATO, and Congress passed that law that prohibited him from doing so without Senate approval.

      So he is manufacturing a spat.

      Trump doesn’t seem to realize that his talking-tough-to-world-leaders-in-front-of-the-WH-press is not the flex it was last year. Other countries leaders win support by criticizing Trump to his face now. The rest of the world used to laugh at him. Now they just hate his guts. Get ready for him getting verbally demolished by the host of some coming state visit.

      Yes please! 80 years of occupation are more than enough. Germany is rebuilding their military and the bases are needed for the Bundeswehr.

      Americans really talking like they are doing Europe a favor with NATO, when it was America who single-handedly proposed the idea of forming NATO to serve America’s own agenda of containing Soviet’s sphere of influence, as well as inserting and expanding America’s own sphere of influence in Europe, leading later into the Middle East

      EU is already in the process of detaching entirely from reliance on the US, and in typical shameless Trump fashion, he’s trying to make it seem like it was America’s idea to get out Europe instead of being forcefully removed
