  1. AI isn’t here to stop tragedy, it’s here to make sure the tragedy can be monetized.

    much like reddit

  2. He’s the face of evil for sexually assaulting his underaged sister for YEARS, allegedly. This ghoul is so desperate to join the Epstein class for exactly the reasons you’d expect.

  3. Again, anything to distract from the fact that they’re highly likely to have talked the dude into it.

Anything to distract from the fact the Federal Liberals have done nothing to address the RCMP and CBP failures highlighted by Wortman.

This had nothing to do with OpenAI and a 100% to do with Trudeau attacking legal gun owners for votes and ignoring the rot under his jurisdiction.

  5. I hope they clean him out. OpenAI’s safety experts had flagged the guy as a potential violent threat, and urged leadership to report him to local law enforcement, per OpenAI’s own written policies. Leadership decided instead to ban the account (but also tell the guy to set up a new one) and call it a day.

Then Sam comes out with this mealy-mouthed BS, perfectly in keeping with his characterization in that New Yorker article — someone with zero regard for others‘ lives, but maximum regard for how he himself is perceived. No wonder people want to see him go down in flames!

  6. Great, blame an individual person for a companies failure to track their users enough? For having some kind of a standard before reporting you to police? At this rate you will have no privacy left and the cops will be on their way as soon as your Google search could theoretically be useful in commiting a crime.

We really went from „protect the children“ to „protect the shareholders“ real fast.

That’s the cheapest and most blatant push for surveillance tools I’ve ever seen.

It’s neither Altman’s nor OpenAI’s job to monitor and report civilians to authorities, is it 1984 yet or what did I miss here?

The call for this is both completely absurd and illegal.

Just a money grab. Maybe they should also sue the Canadian government for failure to preemptively jail the mentally disturbed kid. While they are at it, they should go ahead and sue the makers of the car the asshat drove and gun it used. Likely need to sue the city of San Francisco and the state of California for allowing OpenAI to function as a company.

Reddit will probably be sued as well since it did have an account and spoke of the fascination with violence. Reddit is at least partially responsible for failing to prevent this tragedy. Obviously all accounts that interacted with the Rootselaar account will need to be sued as well.

Of course he is. He’s made a digital murder accomplice. And suicide accomplice, and something that feeds off psychotic delusions. I don’t even think he feels any regrets, just sees it as a minor bump along the way to some utopia. The tech CEOs are in a cult dedicated to creating a superintelligence god

Hmm weird that he is responsible but yet the law makers saying schools are a gun free zone and therefore a massive target arent to blame?

The RCMP and Canadian courts literally gave the guns back to this person and their family.

Yet you guys think OpenAI is at fault here? It’s insane how gullible you are all being.

Jesus, he’s basically the new Mark Zuckerberg. I thought Sam Altman was bad but didn’t think he was this bad…
