Because gop and its base like to attack others for a multitude of things, like their laugh, their lack of political background, their lack of knowledge of the Bible, the gas prices, inflation, external wars, the deficit, government spending, the senile old man behaviour, free speech, cancel culture… and on and on… but never apply the same rules for themselves.

      I don’t agree that he’s held to a higher standard.

      The FCC is blatantly trying to censor the speech of a comedian.

      It’s not about what’s being said, it’s about silencing opposition and dissent.

      The more I think about it the more frustrated I get that it’s even framed this way – like they’re peers and „both saying bad things“ – totally not what it’s about.

      That’s literally it.  Dude made a joke a couple days before a shooting, oh no.  If they actually cared about what he said they would have taken up issue with the dozens of time Trump has said the same thing.

      Make no mistake.  The goal is misdirection.

      It’s amusing that Jimmy Kimmel made jokes about trump before they tried to get him sacked and afterwards he has doubled down and doubled down again, to outright attacks on trump.

      Someone needs to in the Mainstream.

      Somethings aren’t funny, somethings need attacking and not reasoning.

      Trump revels in the deaths of innocents and orders the extra-judicial murders of fishermen (or maybe drug smugglers but we’ll never know) and kidnapping of foreign leaders and Americans get all pissy when someone tries to kill him.

      The U.S.A is the epitome of double standards.

      Jimmy Kimmel is spouting facts that can’t be disputed. His comedy is educational kind of like Jon Stewart but John is on cable if you haven’t yet, watch Jimmy Kimmel‘s White House correspondents dinner parody. He hits every point right on the nail and the administration can’t dispute it.
