      Generally I like Isaacman as Administrator, but I really miss having an executive branch that didn’t feel the need to constantly comment on meme topics.

      well… I don’t know about anybody else. But that will solve all my problems 🙄

      I am glad our tax dollars are paying for the salaries and pensions of people who are addressing such pressing issues

      Of course part of the deal would be to change the name of Pluto to Jupiter and then Jupiter to Trump.

      Maybe Trump can have NASA make the Sun the center of the Universe again like the Bible says. Of course, then he would have to admit he himself is not the center of the Universe.

      I loved Pluto, but I was the right decision to make. If you love something, sometimes you have to let it go 😢

      Pluto is just a really large comet. We didn’t have powerful enough telescopes when it was first discovered to make this distinction. It is large enough we classify it as a dwarf planet as there are countless other object in orbit similar to pluto’s size. Those would all have to be planets as well.

      It would have to clear it’s orbital path by definition.

      Removing Pluto from the Sol family of planets was unfortunate but it didn’t meet the 3 requirements to define it as a planet. Orbits the sun,is rounded by gravity but didn’t clear its orbit of debris. to rename it as a planet would require changing the definition of what a planet is. though we could make an exception and pretend its a planet.

      I mean that’s not how science works. The reason Pluto is no longer a planet just cuz you were trying to define planet and they couldn’t come up with a set of parameters that included the inner nine planets but excluded all the dwarg planets/exo planets.

      so they realize that they could make a definition for planet that would only include the eight planets and that Pluto fit the definition of the other dwarf planets.

      I guess we could just get rid of the dwarf planet distinction but then we have more than nine planets. or Trump just doesn’t care about science and definitions and just wants Pluto to be called a planet on vibes.

      I hate to ask but…how many millions of dollars is this gonna cost. I just know they will spend the money and at some point the press will question Trump about it and he will shrug it off by saying, ”planets don’t come cheap.”

      Ok, call it a planet.  You’ll have to change the definition of planet, but knock yourself out.

      Why not?  No one can work for trump and retain credibility anyway.
