Let me ask you this….when your goal is to enrich yourself and all you get back, besides that massive amount of assets that is so large the average mind cant comprehend it, is humiliation, did you still reach your goal? I would let Iran and UAE humiliate me for several billion dollars. I might even shake hands and kiss them afterwards, cementing a bond of further corruption as I age and have to live with that humiliation behind my gated walls and on my private islands.
I do hope that Trump is not allowed to keep the records (his presidential records act challenge) and historians are allowed to see what type of planning went into this war.
Was there actual wargaming? Were there plans made if the Iran regime did not collapse? Certainly the military has known for decades that the strait of Hormuz is a critical shipping point and that Iran could do something very similar to what it’s doing now.
Is the current closure due to an unexpected efficiency of Iran’s drone weapons? Or something else that was over looked?
I think the US initially made a huge mistake and now realizes that the blockade is actually just a lucky break for them to sell their own oil to a world in need. Probably not gonna hear anything new from the region for a while, unless Israel is in any danger
Who exactly is this headline attempting to reach? The actual people involved certainly don’t care. Assigning humiliation to someone doesn’t really work.

Merz is not wrong. The Iranian hardliners know all they have to do is wait it out. The civilian government (moderates) would rather get on with life as usual as the economy takes precedence. Right now, the hardliners are calling the shots.
The Iranian government is run by morons who care more about their theocracy than the people living there. Even if they survive this round from Trump, the economy will be so wrecked, the IRGC will struggle to. fund terrorism or nuclear weapons and the military will eventually take over and end the theocracy themselves even if it means killing every member of the IRGC to do so.
