Finally!! I swear that company must have about 5 employees. I have never been able to get it to install on an English Windows system, and their website and staff seem to be just one person.
It is such a bad idea to have all of Korea’s cultural and governmental data in a format that no other programs can access, with a company that seems to be zombified.

Hangul has been using HWPX for a while now by default, though a lot of plain HWPs are still being used too. This is like when Microsoft moved .doc to .docx and although there are plenty of other apps out there now that can use docx it’s still best utilized in Word. I suspect the same will be true here. Companies/governments are not going to stop using Hangul Office. They’ll just default more to HWPX. With how much complex table formatting is used in documents here, I doubt the results would be as good in another app anyway.
So don’t read this news as synonymous with „Korea will start using MS Word“ or etc.
