Don’t tell anybody. It’s our little secret.

We actually like the rest of a world to think it’s grey, shit and polar bears walking the street

i was in warsaw on my birthday and people know how to dress there. its nice to look at when like 70% on people you see randomly on the street are visibly into fashion

Yeah, I noticed the staring when I was helping my brother move to Stralsund. What’s up with that? We were unpacking his stuff from a trailer and some older dude just casually stood and stared at what we were doing, I don’t suspect any hostility or ill will. For me, a pole, it was kind of awkward 😅

Yeah Poland is not a shithole and normal Germans have a distorted sense of superiority

Oh God, another Western European discovering that Central/Eastern Europe is around 10x more livable than the West.

  6. I love Warsaw, but I also love the more suburban and rural parts. Totally biased though. I got to visit my family mostly yearly and watch Poland transform over the last 30+ years. I really like the state it’s in now (ignoring politics and shit lol, I’m just talking about day to day life on the ground) and always loved it but cool to see the changes

“I’ve yet to come across someone who would stare at you…” that’s because you’re white lol

Some quick points when it comes to that comparison concerning cities, you may know yourself well. Just for general public as an additional thought ;):

Warsaw is one if not the richest city in Poland. Additionally I guess you may have quite more buying power in PL then in DE which means you are able to visit more „clean“ places by default (or just afford Warsaw) as that bar/restaurant in your pic. Of course, not the case for your point with the toilets on highways.

In Germany most upper middle / upper class people moved away from big cities, similar to US I guess. Or have specific districts there. Wealth, big mansions or simply self-owned houses are in the suburbs often combined with very clean neighbourhoods.

For me a vast factor for feeling kind of „more comfortable“ (still not the best word for that) in less rich countries then I live was simply that I was able to afford „the better life“ there.

  9. This is the second time I see a German on reddit saying that our highways are in some way better than theirs. I’d never expect that.

  10. I’m from Poland but I have family in Germany and my observation is that big cities are better in Poland, but villages, towns and smaller cities are waaaay better in Germany.

Genuinely – München or Frankfurt aren’t very impressive for me, but I was amazed by Erding and Ulm (ok, Nürnberg IS amazing and beautiful).

  11. You better be happy that your partner is not Chinese, that be one of a hell struggle to learn 😂 may you have a good life here in Poland 🙂 all the best !

I keep telling my American friends that Poland outside of the winter is the best European country by far. Extremely fun place to visit and I consider moving there all the time. Love y’all’s country, it’s amazing.

Hasan Piker said we have one computer. And nobody knows how to use it. Maybe you can.

  14. Hi there, if you need a private Polish tutor, I have a great one! He teaches foreign students at a University here but also takes private students online. PM me if you’d like more details. Best of luck to you ❤️

Everyone looking like a model is a Warsaw thing, I live in Wrocław( Breslau) and people here look „more normal“.

Dom whiskey cocktail bar? Great place, need to go back. Visited when I was in Warsaw a few years ago.

Oh sheesh, if you love Warszawa then you’ll certainly love ANY OTHER BIG CITY way more.

I visited for decades and permanently moved here almost 3 years ago, and I can confidently say that warszawa is my absolute least favourite city in this entire country. No joke.

Take a look around and visit other big cities, you may find they’re even more suited to your quieter way of living whilst still offering the same benefits.

Maybe one day I’ll like warszawa, but I’ve truly never met a Pole that loved it all that much.

It’s kind of just the place people go to make big careers and more money, but the cost of living is also higher than other big cities so it’s a trade off I’m not willing to make. Warszawa makes me sad xD as a lover of Poland, please roam around a bit!!

Germany could have been the same but you chose to have milions of sand people around.

I moved to Poland after meeting my partner too and everything upon experience: just feels right and better.

Polish language is the biggest caveat.

But to keep it clean and decent I think we need sacrificial cathode that takes the most bad.

  20. lemmepopmyshit on

I wonder whats the reason for that hmm?? maybe Just maybe because there are no third World hobos around. But thats just my opinion

I’m polish living in germany and I need to admit that this country is doomed. It’s so dirty, everything takes ages to do, always you need to send letters, nothing can be done online. Banks are one big joke. Honestly can’t wait until I’ll come back to Poland.
Aaa and I forgot to add that I’m scared to go out when is dark… not a place for a woman
