    1. Uh. No. „We want to install software on your computer to help us train an AI engine to do your job.“

As soon as they come up with an AI engine that can stick its head up its own ass, they’ll be able to automate Zuckerberg’s job.

Walk away and start looking for another job, that job you have now is up for retirement. Get out now

    3. This is such an odd thing to do. As if emulating mouse movements will somehow create working software. It’s almost cargo-cult-ish. Developers move the mouse and type things, what if we record those things! Then we emulate mouse movements and then we can emulate their jobs!

Seems super weird, and I’m sure this isn’t the whole story because on the surface it seems completely out of touch and absurdly dumb.

    4. Company that makes a living selling their customers’ data is collating employees’ data 🤷‍♂️

    5. This kind of seems like a great way to create an agent that is terrible at utilizing software. A lot of that data is going to be garbage.

    6. As an FYI:

This may already be happening to you as well when you browse though without you installing any software on your machine and without you knowing it through tools like Fullstory: https://www.fullstory.com/

    7. I’m sure they also won’t use this to track how long a person is away from their computer 💀

Yeah…..that’s why they are doing it lol. Wonder how big the next round of layoffs will be?

    9. If you work in big tech you are well aware they do this already and have for years.

This is a stock play to show off „we have a high quality training data set of tens of thousands of elite tech employees doing office work and we’re not afraid to use it.“

„Data is not going to be used for performance metrics“. I doubt it. More that likely data is going to be screened and used against employees.

yawn. microsoft had this in office back in 99. they recorded macros which literally did this. keystrokes are not a notably good way to train the LLMs. they just be given an algorithm which describes „the rules of the game“ in order for that data to be useful. transformers don’t really work like that. perhaps the interesting bit of this is the apparent signal that the zucc has finally come to the conclusion that CNNs are a more sensible approach ASSUMING you can reliably design those algorithms.

    12. I literally feel like I’m in the early stages of becoming the crazy loon that’s in every dystopian tech apocalypse movie, who’s homeless on the streets with a pasta strainer hat screaming “seee, I told you so!”

Next idea: „Hey let’s feed an LLM with footage of our emplyees staring at the screen, this should create perfect replicas of our engineers and we can get rid of the real ones, finally!“

Im sorry if you’re choosing to work at Meta youre inviting all this shit, yes you need to eat but we all do too, but we ain’t there. Fuckin quit.

    15. Omg capture keystrokes and taking screenshots for Ai learning. Bet the first screenshot will be password related and include the keystrokes. Abandon all hope Mark has paved the way to open up just about anything and the security guy’s are on a relaxed break because Mark will not use and expoit this data and that it will never leak to the public. 😂😂😂

While I think this is a scumbag move.
If not for HR making corporate tech companies about female culture and more about delivering objective and hired people with those professional skills this probably wouldn’t have happen.

It’s like leadership has only itself to blame.

Tech companies “we want to have performative empathy and diversity.”

Hires for diversity… nothing gets done barely shipping anything new or innovative.

Also tech companies “we need to track our employees and train the AI because our methods of hiring isn’t working out.”

Mean while regardless of DEI they got rid of all the people who were qualified due to clashing with the DEI nonsense hires

These companies ask more questions about Identity then skillsets which everyone went hooray for, mean while banks “we’re about to require citizenship data” same people boo, both ask for nonsense identification stuff
