Wow I wonder if a year of online „school“ during covid and another year of making kids go to school in 3 foot cubbies helped them learn?!?!
This dropoff looks like it could be due to Covid virtual schooling or the kids who slipped through the cracks. 2024 Fourth graders would have been at the prime age to start learning to read during Covid shutdowns. It will be interesting to see if there will be a rebound for 2026 or beyond.
My big take away is that there’s a convergence in the shades/scores
