As a linguist, there are numerous posts of his in recent weeks that don’t sound like him at all. this one being one of them. So either he is using AI on his own to write some posts, or his team is posting some content on his behalf using AI, or he is truly so far gone mentally that his entire style of posting has changed.

I say this from the perspective of linguistic analysis. Such sudden shifts usually indicate one of two things: (a) sudden changes in cognitive and mental capacity which affect linguistic parsing (coding and decoding), or (b) deliberate attempts to emulate and/or fabricate a human narrative style and voice either through human or artificial intervention.

There’s a fascinating book called „The Secret Life of Pronouns“ by James Pannabaker which explores our distinct linguistic quirks and nuances. The way we communicate is, in many ways, like a fingerprint. Any dramatic changes to these indicate either drastic internal cognitive changes or deliberate external interventions.

People use certain cases, intonation, cadence, filler words, salutations and adjectives persistently for most of their lives (or for specific contexts/pragmatics), since our brains prefer both patterns and the safety of known terminologies, events or contexts. Any divergence is a sign that something is awry.

i can’t say what that is. But Trump talk has changed. Or, in the very least, there are posts which seem to present him entirely as himself, and some which diverge dramatically from his linguistic style.
