    1. The problem with ousting PP is that the CPC is likely going to learn the wrong lesson.

      O’Toole was a boring middle of the road conservative that appealed to the center, and no doubt if he had been given a chance to run in another election he would have won handily against Trudeau.

      But the CPC, spooked by the emergence of the People’s Party, decided O’Toole wasn’t far-right enough, and elected a whiny far-right populist.

      Then, seeing the gap on the electoral landscape, the liberals put forward their own boring middle of the road conservative, and pulled a miracle upset.

      The lesson that should be learned is that Canadians by and large want our politicians to be moderate and close to the center. But the CPC is likely going to learn the opposite lesson and try to go even *farther* to the right.
