Trump’s brain is falling apart. It really is. But the GOP allowed him to grow his cult because they thought it would bring them political advantage. *And it has*. His cult allowed them to gain control of federal government and the legislative branch. But now, the GOP can’t just kick Trump to the curb like they do for other people who they can’t use anymore, because his cult still venerates him. And now, the GOP is twisting itself in knots trying to disentangle themselves from Trump *without* losing his cultists.
I think he’ll stay just long enough so they he can put the fear of GoP into the American people and forever make it one nation under GoP.

It’s genuinely terrifying that we have actual congressional leaders sounding the alarm that the president is mentally unwell and a direct national security threat, and half the political system is just treating it like a completely normal tuesday ngl.
Is it not bad enough that something really bad happens on a foreign soil because of him? Or what happens globally once the full effect of disruptions at the strait of Hormuz really materialize? Is what ICE doing not bad enough yet? How bad does it have to be for you people to give a shit?

The line about US soil has such „i Don’t realize I’m the villain“ vibe. It’s not a problem yet, because it hasn’t hit us. Exploded Iranian kids are no big deal.
But I mean really, if you want to talk about the damage he’s done on American soil, 1.2 million Americans died of covid. Obviously Trump isn’t responsible for all of those deaths, but Americans died at a much higher rate than other places with comparable resources. The number of deaths that would have been prevented with any kind of sane response is not small.
About half the nation isn’t well. It’s almost like witnessing a hive mind in decline.
