I suspect that this is a consequence of rampant corruption throughout the Russian system.

Absolutely braindead post. There are hundreds Shahed drones attacking Ukraine every night (!!!). Some of those have FPV-like manual control functionality to attack Ukrainian mobile AA units.
Some drones work as a mesh network circling around big cities and providing a network connection to other drones.
This is an incredibly flexible and powerful platform that can easily operate at -30 degrees temperature in thick fog and while being jammed.
The fact that EU countries allow Russia to avert sanctions and under-estimate Russian capabilities is an absolutely mindless delusion that emboldens the aggressor and will backfire on the EU 100%. Yes, yes, Ukraine’s military factories and thermal power plants, as well as thousands of burnt-out Ukrainian Armed Forces tanks and hundreds of thousands of military graves, can confirm that there is no need to fear Russian drones.
It’s always been like this. Back in WW2 early T-34 tanks had an issue with the track link bolts falling out due to vibrations when driving. Instead of fixing the retention mechanism, they welded a metal wedge at the end of the track run to ram the bolts back into position when they eventually came around.
