      **Data sources:**
      – Statistics Canada 1990–2012 (historical immigration data)
      – IRCC Facts & Figures 2013–2014
      – IRCC Open Data 2015–2025 (open.canada.ca)

      **Tool:** Python / matplotlib

**Note:** Background tint shows governing party — red = Liberal, blue = Conservative. The dashed 20% line marks a ceiling no single source country had ever crossed in the prior 27 years. That changed in 2018.

I’m sure this thread will be calm, rational, and kind to our neighbors who come here to make a better life for themselves

Are there issues with the immigration system as it stands? Absolutely. But that’s not on the individuals who’ve come here under that system, it’s on the predetory immigration advisory system that surrounds that system.

Edit: it’s also on business owners who take advantage of said system to keep paying people as little as possible.
