I haven’t touched FB in a long time for various reasons, so I guess this can be one more reason.

      literally nobody supports zuck

people don’t use facebook because they are zuckerberg fans lmfao

    3. If people don’t use Zucks company, company will become irrelevant and require less employees, resulting in layoffs. So the plan is working, right?

      What’s the logic here?

You guys are upset that Facebook is firing 8,000 people so you want to stop giving money to Facebook so they hire more or fire less?

      Good idea.

Plus who gives money to Facebook? If you guys are paying for your Facebook I can offer you guys a cheaper rate.

Don’t use Facebook it’s dumb but if you don’t use it don’t get mad when people get fired. That’s how it works

Watch Meta use the recent lawsuits as an excuse. Cost cutting measures

What do people want to happen.

These companies are overvalued. If we want the market to correct itself, people getting fired is an inevitability.

Oh no. 8000 people who left their ethics at the door for a fat paycheque.

Meta has like 5 products and 78k employees. They are ridiculously overstaffed.

    9. Who’s on earth is still supporting Zuckerberg? The only time I remember people liking him was when he was going to have a cage match UFC fight with Elon Musk. Other than that he’s mostly been looked at as a robot in a human body.

Zuckerberg is one of the most clowned on people on the internet. No one supports him. People might use his apps, but that’s a completely different story. Besides, the logic does not make sense — if people stop using his apps all together, even more people will get fired.

    11. Because people are on insta all day long or pretending to live a life they don’t have on insta.

    12. He’s just proved he can be replaced by AI, so surely he’s one of the 8000, right?

I mean, if they really are making everyone whose job can be done by AI redundant, then getting rid of the single biggest salary in the business seems to make the most sense.

    13. Isn’t over half of Facebook bots now? I hear they’re very supportive of their creator.

A single company laying off thousands of people, even though it’s reporting record profits, is a sign of greed. Multiple companies doing it is a sign of something worse. A depression is coming, if not another great recession.

    15. We support Mark because we are unable to detach ourselves from Marketplace and communicator.

How come when a FB dev posts on Reddit to an AMA, they get shit on so hard and are basically forced to take the post down, but we also shit on Zuck for firing them…?

    17. Has anyone been doing a tech industry layoff counter? Say like, since the pandemic?

Is the myth of you don’t like your job just quit a fund a new one finally cracking?

Remember how he got his start, a loser starts a website to rate all the girls who would have nothing to do with him. A scumbag now, a scumbag then.

I’m not a fan of Zuckerberg but can you find me a better version of Facebook or Instagram?

    21. Aggressive-Expert-69 on

Nobody likes Zuckerberg but unfortunately that isnt enough to knock him from the top of the pyramid that is his company.

    22. The reality is the technology of these platforms is quite mature. They could be run by a quarter of the staff, slash R&D spending to the bone, and still mint money for decades. We’ll probably see this happen in the next ten years as people start to see these as boring utilities instead of engines of innovation on the verge of inventing the next Trillion dollar industry.

People do not give a shit about anything anymore. Nobody knows about this, if you ask the average person about the Epstein files or the war in Iran they barely have their finger on the pulse of either. You think people are going to know whether fb is laying people off or not? How detached from reality are we going to keep playing this? People. Aren’t. Fucking. Paying. Attention. That’s the answer to the Title.

Also people in here claiming „nobody“ supports Meta is wild. You are in such bad reddit bubbles. So many people still use FB and Instagram, and yeah, a lot of them suck and are completely priveleged, unaware dickheads, but getting on reddit and pretending nobody still supports them is goofy as hell.

Why do people still but droogs knowing it erased their friends and their own existence. It’s addiction pure and simple.

Who cares (about Zuck, the firing or otherwise?) Facebook has 80k employees worldwide; why are we treating a downsizing of 10% like it’s some kind of calamity, especially when they over-hired during covid like it was an arms race with every other Mag7 company.

    26. My account got banned on Thursday for reasons.

I’m withdrawing legitimately and reexamining my relationship with it.

    27. frame_limit on

without meta, most companies would no longer have a portal to beam their ads straight into your head. the advertising surface without social media would grant basically zero ad reach. now imagine that for every company

His PR campaign to make himself more likeable with the hair grown out, the youthful clothes, the chain, has def had an effect whereby he’s not necessarily liked but he’s not viewed as much as lex luthor anymore
