PP: It’s all Carney’s fault!! (use mayor humdinger voice- its funnier!!)

Everyone else: it’s PP’s fault. Get a better leader.

PP: hold on, I have a new slogan!!!

Just wait until the 5 very spammy conservative accounts come in here to take issue with this article, by… doing exactly what PP does and claiming Carney has no education, or that he’s bribing people, or any other line that’s suspiciously exactly the same as something he’s said.

  3. Carney is about as fiscally conservative as they come.  It feels like the Conservative Party is tossing that aside in favour of social conservatism/ popularism.  Give them as enemy to hate. That is an absolute cancer in the Conservative Party.

They should recognize what people want and be looking for a leader that offers sound fiscal policy and will do absolutely nothing about social mores that have no support outside rural Alberta.

Problem Tories have is a lot of blue collar white folks have defected from the NDP and are now Conservatives, and that maybe lowered the intellectual bar on the party.

  5. No s..t! We’ve been saying that for years.

Canadians want credible candidates to choose from in elections. Between Poilieve and Carney it wasn’t even close. And the gap is getting wider.

The leader of the party sets the tone and priorities. Poilievre chose poorly during the election and his tone hasn’t changed much. Personal attacks, hyperbole and priorities that don’t align witch Canadians isn’t going to cut it.

Maybe he’s a nice guy. Maybe he’s got some ideas he’s not sharing but, like Trudeau, Canadians are getting tired of his shtick and want a change.

As an independent voter I’d like see the CPC have a credible PM in waiting that has a positive agenda that resonates with Canadians and I’ll consider that person in the next election. Until then I’ll continue voting for Carney.

  6. When the Globe and Mail criticize the Cons, it’s serious.
Canada will be worse off if the Poilievre centred MAGACons squat in the opposition benches for the next 3 years. Canada desperately needs a smart opposition party, not one with a cult-like fanaticism, but a smart one that can defend the rights of the population over the ambitions of the corporations.

  7. Why do Liberals focus on this so much lol. You got your majority. The conservative leader’s party garnered the most election votes of any previous Conservative runner ever, and you still got your majority government. The Cons have at least 3 years to come up with a plan for the next election. This decision doesn’t have to be made today because of Reddit’s agenda.

The most frightening thing about waking up is the precise moment you look around and notice people believe the most unbelievable of lies or, conversely, do not care.

Why? Because he’s holding the government to account? Last I checked that’s the job of leader of the official opposition

  10. You know… there are SO many hit pieces on PP… and I would be that most of them are Liberal funded. That tells me the Liberals want him out of the way, so he’s doing a great job.

  11. Their problem is their new base they don’t seem to want to let go of, to their detriment.

  12. Regardless of their leader, Conservative Party will still continue to run massive deficits and continue to grow more and more unpopular as the cost of living in Canada grows.

This is a systemic issue and there needs to be some massive changes to their platform

  13. Regardless of what you believe, its amazing to watch for an entire year opinion articles trying to convince the conservatives of getting rid of PP, one after the other and comment chains where they basically repeat the same PP slander over and over again.

  14. Why are the liberals so focused on a minority opposition instead of running the country…It’s really creepy. If they’re doing such a good job, why be so worried about Poilievre? It screams insecurity and a lack of confidence in their ability to run a country.

Yes, I’m sure the Liberals and their media are genuinely concerned with the betterment of their opponents. If he really were such a problem, you’d think they would be trying to convince everyone that he should stay or at the very least not say anything so the Conservatives remain weak. Such selflessness from the Liberals. They truely are saints.

This is why I prefer Maxime Bernier over PP. I also like his stance on immigration .

  17. He served his function. He got rid of Trudeau. Unfortunately the cabinets could have used some more cleaning.

Literally no women I know like him. He won’t win. It’s not worth polling men at that point. The humble thing to do is step aside.

Unfortunately, politicians on all sides see it as a lifelong career, not a period of service.
