That really sucks, I can empathize. Middle class are getting squeezed out everywhere.
There used to be a sort of hierarchy, where the ultimate goal was movies: It was seen as slightly embarrassing to be “downgraded” from starring in movies to having a role on a tv series.
Nowadays, nobody really cares and work is work.
However, with fewer movie projects getting produced, a lot of the stars have been picking up all the prestige tv roles: Squeezing out the middle man as Acevedo describes.
(Any production is very expensive, so if you’re a producer would you rather have a recognized movie face on board, or a seasoned character actor?)
Not having money sucks, but not having money when you’re famous must suck even more.
Isn’t that why actors would wait tables between jobs? /s
