Weird, thought they didn’t need anything and had all the oil in the world?

Canada needs to build pipelines anywhere else but the USA. All another pipeline south will do is make the trade surplus larger with the USA and draw more Republican wrath. We need another pipeline west first and possibly east even if taxpayer funding is necessary.

Great, but we are selling to reliable trading partners instead. Take care though.

Increase in capacity up to 500 000 barrels a day by 2028. More bigger pumps and pipes to existing infrastructure.

Add an export duty for US bound oil and I’m ok with this.

This is good news for Canadian oil. Maybe Canada will start building more pipelines across Canada. People really acting like we were going to do no trade with America when what 70% of our exports goes there.

NO more oil to the USA.
Canada already has too much economic concentration in the US market, too many eggs in their basket. It’s bad business.
We *desperately* need to diversify away from the USA.
Of course Trump wants ALL Canada’a oil, they get it at a steep discount.
Don’t sell an y more capacity to them – sell to other, most dependable, trading partners. Build pipelines to all the coasts. *Export* and *reduce* the amount that goes stateside.

There is really no point in any of these signed agreements anyway. Obama wouldn’t sign for Keystone in his last term, Trump signed it to go ahead on his first day in office in his first term, Biden cancelled it on the first day of his first term. no company is going to invest that kind of money for something that can be cancelled with a stroke of a pen. Keystone was already half built across Canada – and environmental and Engineering was 10 years in the making before that so the amount of money that was spent for nothing would be mind-boggling.
And it’s the same if there is a pipeline in Canada to the east or West Coast. No investors will touch anything like that in this country with the legislation, the liberals have put in place and the resistance of some provinces and First Nations.
Of course, we now see the value of having another east or west pipeline for Canada given the current global situation but the ship has sailed, there will never be another pipeline built in this country.
