  1. Senate Democrats just refused to back a resolution by Senator Bernie Sanders to block U.S. weapons sales to Israel.

    Chris Coons (DE)

    Catherine Cortez Masto (NV)

    John Fetterman (PA)

    Kirsten Gillibrand (NY)

    Jackie Rosen (NV)

    Chuck Schumer (NY)

  3. I’m sure people will focus on the rage bait but I think they’re burying the lede here:

    >Last July, 19 Democrats including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blocked Sanders’s last attempt.

Going from 19 down to 7 in less than a year is actually a pretty huge shift. 15%~ support down from 40%~.

  4. Here is the full list of Democrats who voted to continue sending bombs to Israel:

    1. Richard Blumenthal (CT)
    2. Chris Coons (DE)
    3. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV)
    4. John Fetterman (PA)
    5. Kirsten Gillibrand (NY)
    6. Jackie Rosen (NV)
    7. Chuck Schumer (NY)

    And also every single Republican.

  5. The framing is weird. The more important news is that 40 Senate Democrats voted to end arms sales to Israel. The previous high water mark was 27.

Take heart. The tides are turning against AIPAC.

  6. The good news is that Israel has become so toxic that only a minority of Dem senators voted to kill this bill.

This would have been unthinkable even a year ago.

We don’t have an opposition party, we just have Republicans and Republican lite.

  8. I’d be worried if I was Israeli though. US military support is going away, probably within 5 years when young voters vote start to count.

The fact we got 40 sitting Senators to come to the floor and vote against Israel’s interests, when just a few years ago we could not scrounge together a handful to do so, shows just how the tides have turned against the apartheid state. Yesterday Israel was more popular than it is today, and today Israel is more popular than it will be tomorrow.

  10. You shouldn’t need to primary Schumer, he’s 75!!! If he doesn’t realise it’s time to retire to Israel it is definitely AOC time.

  11. Genuine question, what is the procedure for Senate Democrats to remove this pos as leader?

Attention everyone, Fetterman was always pro-Israel. This is nothing that can be blamed on the stroke and nothing that should surprise anyone. I know it’s hard to keep track of every politicians position on everything, God knows I’m not great at it, but don’t rush to assume every Democrat is woke and votes perfectly in line with that you want. Don’t project perfection on everyone with a (D) behind their name.

Hell don’t assume everything bad of (R)’s either. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no excuse, but MTGs turn could be seen from far away. Reddit was too busy labeling her mindlessly crazy. They didn’t notice she was willing to piss off her own. I’m not surprised she stuck to her QAnon roots and left. She did the same with the Catholic church. Find the loose threads and pull. One that isn’t getting enough attention is Chip Roy. He and Massie were the only R’s I saw critique Bondi over the files. He kissed ass for four minutes but he did it. He wants to be Texas AG. Dems should be riling up attention and pushign him to campaign on „one of the only Republicans to chase down the Epstein List“. For all I know there was more, I couldn’t stand to listen to all the R’s.

My point is, learn the candidates. Find the patterns. It’s not easy but America needs it. And vote in the damned primaries!

What? „I am a representative of Israel, first“ Chuck should vote against it.

    Can’t believe it.

  14. Imagine having no say at all about your country’s slavish obligation to support the murder of 10s of thousands of children, openly and with no let up!!

  15. Democrats after they lose the next election:

„It is all the fault of those voters who stayed home because they didn’t like the Democratic party positions!!!!“

Stop supporting genocide and more people will vote for you.

To be clear I am a lesser of two evils voter, and will vote for them as long as they are slightly lesser evil than the other guys. But I also understand people who can’t bring themselves to vote to support genocide.

Well Schumer has taken over 6 million dollars from over 23 different Israeli Pacs to date, so

When people say „well how do you expect dems to do anything to stop trump as a minority party?“ At a bare minimum, they can stop supporting Israel. Democrats have had just enough votes to confirm all of trumps admin and most of their odious bills. The democrat party is complicit to this authoritarian takeover. They are bought and paid for, and I won’t vote for any Democrat that takes pro Israel, AI, or crypto PAC money.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the goal of cutting arms shipments? Is it to actually reduce the intensity and destruction of the conflict? Or is it to morally exonerate America of involvement in order to have clean consciences? I can’t imagine it’s to try and make Israel more vulnerable to terrorists.

Can’t wait to vote Schumer and Gillibrand out. NY deserves better, more progressive representation in the Senate.

I just Googled Chris Coons cos I never heard of him before. Pretty legitimately liberal dude in every way, even left of Obama on some issues. Absolutely pro humanist, pro freedom anti-war, anti-arms, anti-genocide in Africa, South America, Europe. Yet somehow is pro giving arms to Israel. It is completely not in step with the rest of his other political positions.

We need to remember who was always against this rather than those who are just changing their tune now bc they are worried about their seats. It is sickening how they didn’t stand against genocide when we were all watching Palestinian children slaughtered daily by the IDF on our phones like some sick black mirror episode bc they were being paid by aipac. Fuck them.

  23. TheFlameosTsungiHorn on

Chuck Schumer being in office for this long is a sign of how corrupt and rotten America is

  24. VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

They are giving money to a country that is committing genocide everyday.
