  1. So let me get this straight: my tax dollars are funding an illegal trillion-dollar war, and I still have to pay H&R Block a $150 convenience fee just to tell the government how much of my money they took to fund it? You literally can’t make this up.

Most people don’t know that Warren consistently scores as the farthest left-leaning member of Senate based on her legislative voting.

Stop using HR Block and Intuit. There are free tax filing services available. FreeTaxUSA is the one I use. It is frustrating that the government is allowing these shady practices to continue- but you don’t have to use these companies!!!

  4. amazing how we can always find infinite money to blow shit up, but suddenly turn into fiscal monks when regular people might benefit, it’s hilarious

  5. Sounds like a plan for a peace deal – we stop bombing them and in exchange Iran provides tax preparation services.

… As ridiculous as this would be, it’s still better than whatever Trump will end up with.

  6. Elon Musk, with no right whatsoever, just destroyed something that helped the common man. All the hate that man gets is justified, and sadly I doubt he will ever pay for his crimes.

  7. Viewed from a republican standpoint: for just 20 years of whatever thing, he can bomb Iran for one day!

  8. Always love Warren’s politics. Her legacy will be the CPB. I dig this proposal too.

Where is Dem leadership? What policies are they running on for the midterms?

Everything should be measured in “days of bombing Iran” from now on.

  10. Hey Anthropic, I have an idea for something AI actually would be useful for…

Maybe we could also use it to audit Billionaires and their „too sophisticated“ filings. Betting an AI could unravel whatever dodgey bit of fuckery Elon’s trolls have come up with.

Dems need to jump on this messaging. Every day of this war, describe what taxpayer dollars could have funded instead.

So much shit can be done with a trillion dollars. It should be criminal we spend that much on defense.

  13. Ah, the problem is this falls under “things that would improve Americans’ lives” so the Republican Party will naturally be opposed.

One day of bombing Iran could pay for a lot of things. After 3 weeks of bombing Iran, look at all tnhat we could have. Hypocritical, asshole fidcal conservative Republicans my ass! Never have money for anything but tax cuts, law enforcement and wars.

  15. I’ve read variations of this story for the last several years. Intuit and H&R Block have bought off enough members of Congress to kill most free filing options. Elizabeth Warren continues to fight to reinstate the program.

Meanwhile, I use FreeTax USA to file for free. Expansion of that service would be a great service to the American public. Go, Elizabeth!

  16. Or, you know, here’s an idea. You don’t file. The IRS just sends you a check or a bill. The US is the only country in the world where you have to file your taxes. It only exists to force people to pay third party services.

  17. These days the only question that seems to matter to get anything done is „How can Trump profit from this“
