So 10% of those billionaires wealth would provide $13,900 for SNAP. What are you planning for next year?
I’m also suspicious of these numbers. How many starving Americans are there really?

Not saying wealth inequality is a good thing, cause it isnt.

But why does it seem like no one on reddit understands that if you gave everyone lets say $10,000, yes they could buy some stuff with it, but inflation would shoot up and it would quickly lose a good chunk of its value. We saw this with all the stimulus during covid and people only got a couple grand then.

    3. After 2020, the average SNAP benefit nearly doubled, and for some reason never returned back to pre pandemic era spending.

This post is more or less bad agitprop.

Aside from the fact that in any venture in to a poor neighborhood you won’t be commonly confronted with starving faces but rather a lot of obesity, what are the actual changes to SNAP (per google):

Expanded Work Requirements: The age limit for able-bodied adults without dependents subject to work requirements has increased to 64 (up from 54).

Exemptions: Exemptions are now narrowed to only include adults with dependent children under the age of 14.

State Cost-Sharing: The federal government will shift a larger portion of administrative and benefit costs to states, particularly for those with payment error rates above 6%.

Non-citizen Eligibility: Updated guidance limits SNAP access for non-citizens who have been in the U.S. for fewer than five years.

      These changes seem quite reasonable.
