It’s hard to maintain a business built around tobacco today.

Should have sold to Couche-Tard when they had the chance.

Why couldn’t they be like the ones in Japan..

This is good news for other names like ATD, even dollarama would benefit from this.

They blow up the Couche-Tard North American acquisition and then have to write them down. What a bad bit of management.

Where I am I going to get my Big Gulp ?

Where I used to go with my friends to the local convenience store in our neighborhood on bikes to grab junk food with our pocket change, my kids go to the Dollarama to do the same.
I don’t think 12 year olds with allowance money were keeping these stores afloat necessarily, but it does seem like their value has diminished.

Any else notice how for the last decade or so most 711s just have a rank ass smell inside? No other convenience store chains seem to have this problem. Really just killed my interest in ever going there tbh

7/11 is great in asia i think because people are always moving, they don’t have time to sit down and wait.
They can eat good food there. The ones here serves food, but the quality of food isn’t as good as the ones in Japan and Hong Kong. Vietnam have it too, small, but serves things that everyone wants.
Hong Kong 7/11 also allows people to pay utility bills as well.. so it serves as a function for ppl to do household chores.
I still like 7/11 in Canada… maybe in suburbs .. not enough traffic.

7-11 is an overpriced dump. Who even regularly shops at these kinds of stores other than teens?

Considering all the 7/11 stores I’ve seen have basically become homeless/druggie hang outs….I’m not surprised.
Looking at you Kamloops!

The one near me is usually busy. I don’t think it will be closing. Lower mainland BC btw.

Remember 2 hotdogs for a dollar? The Cheese Burgers? The Pizza subs? The fresh baked cookies? They used to have great food offers. No wonder I was such a fat kid.

I’m wondering if retail theft has a lot to do with the under performing stores.

7-Eleven and McDonalds used to be cheap, convenient and consistent. They’ve both become convoluted and overpriced and I’ve stopped giving them my business years ago. They have simply lost their way.

Gas station food in canada is so bad, I miss the ones in Asia. Why can’t they bring food from other 7-eleven as a limited time feature.

Almost no affiliation with a gas/electronic charging station is a death knell for convenience shopping.

They should lower their prices by $1-2, that’ll drive sales.

Good. Ever since they’ve been bought and run by a specific group of people they’ve gone off a cliff. Good riddance
