  1. > In video and photos shared on social media, the celebrity TV chef was seen embracing the brothers at UFC 327 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, April 11 (a fight also attended by President Donald Trump). In one video clip posted by BroBible sports editor Jorge Alonso, Fieri is seen shaking hands with Andrew Tate and bumping shoulders as they greet each other.

    > Fieri said in a post on X Tuesday, wrote: “I’m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday’s UFC event and all I can say is that I’m devastated. I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchanged happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment.”

    > Fieri added: “I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way.”

I’m starting to think there’s lots of people with shitty qualities they need to work on

Saw the video. Didn’t look like anything special. Probably thought he was a fan or something. Seems like a huge overreaction.

  4. MostlySoberWizard on

In his defense, if you go to a UFC event you’re probably going to have to shake hands with a rapist. That’s just a given.

  5. MusclyArmPaperboy on

This is such an overreaction to a tepid event that you have to wonder if its bot-driven

Like, yeah, dude shook the hands of some dipshit in public. That doesn’t make him a dipshit.

Look. The Mayor of Flavortown is a popular fellow. It is plausible to believe thing 1 and thing 2 are just star fuckers and want their picture taken with as many celebrities as possible so they can have the best decorated prison cells on the block.

I could believe Guy is oblivious enough or not at all interested the world of news to know who these two asshats are. Not everyone pays attention to this to the same degree we all do.

I don’t know if any of you have lived in the south but I’ve said hello and shook hands with complete strangers a plethora of times. It’s not that uncommon for some people to just be friendly. He very well might not have had any fucking clue who they are. He’s famous. A lot of people want to take pictures and say hello to him.

Just cannot take him seriously here. It’s a ufc event. Just any level of looking into the direction the ufc has taken would quickly put the ufc and trump together. And, he has to know how he’s viewed. Just feels like he went “nobody will care, trust Me” well, people care Guy. Surprise. He’s never really struck me as a good person. Only one that cares about things that affect him.

  9. The guy spends 13 seconds saying hello to someone and that’s a crime. Get a life people! It looked like he didn’t even know them.

Guy Fieri seems like a pretty good guy and definitely pro-LGBT. My guess is he’s telling the truth and just stopped for a picture with who he figured were fans. It happens.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since people probably come up to him all the time

Guy Fieri has had quite a few allegations and straight f*ck-ups throughout the years that it makes this just seem like another cover for bad behavior and bad friends. There’s been allegations of sexual harassment, many instances of tossing about homophobic slurs, and some tantrums about poor restaurant reviews.

I don’t know if I believe him but could you imagine your own personal panic if you genuinely didn’t know these monsters and were seen with them this way lmao I wouldn’t know how to function I’d just retire

  14. Once again by the way, Guy Fieri was responsible for leading the charge to save countless restaurants during Covid and his foundation routinely supports veterans and first responders.

Obviously nobody is perfect, but by all metrics Guy is a decent dude and this is likely overblown. In all reality he thought they were fans and he was being polite.

  15. Arch-by-the-way on

I wish I could easily flag and block anyone who actually got mad about this. If this is what you fight on the internet about, you’re braindead

  16. Ok-Walk-8040 on

He didn’t seem to know who the fuck he was to be fair. Andrew Tate being allowed there is the issue. Throw all of your criticism at the venue and UFC which has been known to have a big problem with sexual assault.

  17. CookieSad8043 on

People calling bullshit on him not knowing who they are need to get a grip and go outside. I find it EXTREMELY plausible that a nearly 60 year old man has no idea who the Tate brothers are lmao have you guys ever talked to people that age? The internet is massive. You can be active on social media and young and savvy and still have no idea which influencers and celebs are popular right now. Now imagine a 60 year old man. Him genuinely not knowing who these guys are would not surprise me even a little bit

Y’all are doing the goofy Redditor thing where you assume everyone is as terminally online as you

  18. ClassroomMother8062 on

You’re a trumper though dude. Just as bad, worse, whatever. You’re a known quantity now, and it’s sad because I used to respect you. Save the backpedaling.

  19. OneBillPhil on

If I wasn’t on Reddit I’d have no idea who these clowns are either. I don’t know, like you can’t expect people to be chronically online and know who everyone is.

  20. dionpadilla1 on

Kinda wild how the worst people all attend UFC fights live. I stopped going years ago and that’s why I’m never photographed dapping up sex traffickers. Well, that and I’m not a fucking idiot.

  21. Hefty_Debt_638 on

The man says hello to people and Reddit’s got them fucking in a van down by the river.

  22. While they may not listen very well Guy, you can tell Andrew Taint and the rest of the sex pests No.

  23. Spear_Ritual on

There’s some requirement or etiquette to be civil to other people. You can be civil to asshats. I think that’s what this was. I’m going to be kind to everyone. Unless I know for sure they’re dirtbags, but I’d still keep it professional and not hostile.

  24. Step off fools, that Guy Fieri!

Who else put their money on the line to support small businesses across America during the pandemic?

  25. EastonMetsGuy on

Nah that’s totally BS you don’t *dap someone up* like that you don’t know

  26. Is this going to be like that TLC lady, where somebody’s going to find a signed copy of the book “Meeting the Tate Brothers Is Totally My Bag, Baby” by Guy Fieri?

  27. Guilty-Influence-890 on

I Will always defend mayor of Flavortown. Obviously I don’t know him personally but he’s done a lot of cool progressive shit (more than the people talking shit) that he gets the benefit of the doubt

  28. Imagine salivating at the opportunity to assume the worst about someone you know absolutely nothing about.
