      Two Iran-linked vessels that passed through the Strait of Hormuz after a US blockade was imposed have changed direction and appear to be heading back, BBC Verify reported, citing ship-tracking data.

      The US-sanctioned tanker Rich Starry, which reported carrying cargo, sailed east from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates through the strait overnight before reversing course, the report said.

      Bulk carrier Christianna, which crossed the strait on Monday after calling at Iran’s Bandar Imam Khomeini, has likewise now changed direction, the report added.

      For those of us thinking the article is BS, here’s [one from Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-sanctioned-chinese-tanker-passes-strait-hormuz-despite-us-blockade-data-shows-2026-04-14/) saying basically the same thing. The complicating factor is that while some people are making it sound like this is meant to be a total blockade… they are not blocking all types of cargo, and the only ships not allowed to pass through the strait are ones that either came from, or are going to, Iranian ports.

      Several ships are confirmed to have passed through the strait since the blockade began, but not any that left/arrived at actual Iranian ports. Though I do note that several of the ones that did pass through are in violation of sanctions by the US, so theoretically the Navy could be enforcing those sanctions as well.

      So it’s not that the article is misleading, more that the blockade is a lot more limited than they made it sound like it would be.

      By the time Central Command was announcing the blockade, the scope had been limited from „any and all ships trying to enter and leave the strait“ to merely the ones going to Iranian ports specifically, or leaving them.

      I’m guessing they paid the Iranians. Iran let them through and told them to speak with the Americans since they are free to go.

      The radioed the American military vessels, probably got some legalize mumbo jumbo but basically the military doesn’t have orders to sink these boats which is all that matters.

      If the US military intentionally sinks civilian commercial boats, we are beyond cooked as a country cause there goes our credibility. Also it’s a crime with no connection to protecting the homeland.

      I doubt any US navy warships will fire on civilian ships regardless of their orders, so the talk of a blockade is pointless posturing.

      Why would anyone set up a blockade when they weren’t prepared to follow through with it. The fallout from this is going to be bigger than what we can conceive right now.

      Trump needs to be removed from office immediately. He and his crime family need to be investigated and arrested
