      I am truly amazed by China’s economic machine, great cars, great phones, strong manufacturing. If they were to make their peace with Taiwan I would be quite happy with them replacing the US.

      As a Canadian who works in IR, in the last year, I have put way more trust in China than I have in the US. The relative predictability of the Chinese government alone was worth putting my chips on their side of the table.

      The world order is crumbling, but it’s a bit hypocritical of China to complain. They’ve been benefiting from the US run world while also undermining it. We don’t get to here without China being assholes.

      I mean Trump was illegally installed by Putin to destroy the U.S. from within. He’s doing his part by alienating our allies and isolating us from the rest of the world. As much as I’d love to think that the election was stolen, I know way too many idiots that voted for him, so I am fine with us crumbling as a dominant part of the world order. We are getting our just dessert.

      And whether China would like to lead any order is anything, it feels like China/Xi never mind to claim it , but he would not officially crown himself to the throne like the cult did.
