Ah so its really about welfare cuts

      >“We cannot defend Britain with an ever-expanding welfare budget.“

Is this not the author of the review that launched said cuts to the military?

When did this trend of announcing the announcement start? Feels like it’s forever and the result of a slow news day.

So the solution is to cut welfare? Okay who do you want into the army, the majority of the budget that goes to pensioners, the disabled who statistically couldn’t manage military service or the average unemployed who may have no interest in joining, military service really isn’t for everybody.

UK is ranked 2nd in Europe. France is only just #1. What does this washup have to say about all of the other lower ranked countries?

Shock as military man calls for increase in military spending.

Jokes aside that’s not to say there isn’t a point there, the conversation is about how to get to that point in competition with so many other pressing needs. And the answer like always is….. taxes!

And the REAL answer like always is taxes that manipulate property prices to free the population (and their wallets) from the eternal hamster wheel of escalating house prices, first up, land value tax so that developers hoarding land either have to build on it or sell it resulting in downward pressures.

It’s ONLY when we free our society from being ruled over by bricks and mortar that there will be any loose change for other economic and social activity…
