      Most disappointing and unnecessary heel turn in comedy ever. Chappelle reached legendary comic status and decided to burn so much goodwill and admiration just for being called out for repeatedly punching down on trans people.

      I saw Dave do a small set like a decade ago in Buffalo. It was a great show, pretty sure I laughed so hard I cried. That said…I’m not sure a show by him would be as funny as the original episodes. Time, place, and message lined up perfectly before. Now…I’m not too sure. I’d tune in but not in confidence🤷🏿‍♂️

      I think at the time it was funny as humanly possible. But I don’t think it can carry over to now. To try and bring it back might get a few laughs but it would be like a bunch of the redo shows and movies, shit.

      the style of comedy in Chappelle’s show wouldnt work today.

      Even if you ignored all the controversial stuff he’s done in recent years, Reddit would eat him alive solely for stuff like the racial draft or the MTV Real World parody.

      I’d definitely watch a chappelle show reboot, it’s ok to be offended by comedy, you all who are just don’t watch it , same goes for any content you don’t like just don’t consume it that’s fine.

      Him trying to do a new Chappelle show season would be hilarious, because I think it’d be terrible, because a show like that is going to get farmed online for every off color joke, out of context clip and line that’s ever spoken. I truly do not know if he even has the talent to come back to something like Chappelle show and not just dig himself into an even bigger hole. But if he does, he’ll get paid, that’s for sure, and he’ll probably not care too much about the public discourse around him.

      He’s a funny guy and I’m really looking forward to the episode on being cancelled that he will surely do and how much it sucks for him being cancelled, maybe he’ll make it a two part ep if it’s a 10 ep deal. Assuming he can fit it in to his busy schedule of touring his latest show based around him being cancelled and how much it sucks that you can’t say anything these days in case you offend the “woke” to packed theatres around the world.
