They are using the cheapest made jamming stuff out there?
It’s actually scary how easily a whole country can just be cut off like this. Imagine waking up and suddenly the internet is basically gone for weeks. We really take constant access for granted until something like this happens. The longest for me without internet is one week, and even that already felt rough.
Wait I thought we destroyed everything military.
There are ways to communicate electronically without the internet.
At the bare minimum being prepared with VPNs to bypass local blocks.
But if they literally shut down ISPs and cell towers you can still share things electronically.
Cuba has/had a sneakernet. People would pass hard drives around and download stuff and then pass it to the next person.
Meshtastic, Reticulum, and local mesh networks are possible. And they basically require existing router technology and Raspberry pi.
Hell, assuming they have shut down just contact with the external internet but local cell or landline still exists, you can literally digitally convert data into audio and open up a phone call to someone closer to a working satellite dish or close enough to a border to connect with foreign cell towers. Then that person converts that back and then sends things out.
It’s all slower, but still doable
I mean Israel has been on a defacto internet/media blackout for years. For what good is information if it’s all bullshit. And the US isn’t far behind with the conglomeration of media groups and properties into the hands of right-wing billionaires and private interest groups.
Obviously I don’t like that Iran has a blackout, but when the propaganda flows like water from the corporations and countries above with so much global control over the narratives and therefore peoples minds, can’t say I blame em.

I grew up without the internet, and life was perfectly fine back then. But now that we’re plugged in 24/7, it’s become an essential utility like water or power. Honestly, I don’t think I could ever go back to that old way of life. I’d be completely lost.
