Nach einer Verschiebung des Flusslaufs des Rio Grande im frühen 20. Jahrhundert verlagerte sich die Stadt südlich der Grenze. Die Menschen gingen davon aus, dass sie ein Teil Mexikos seien, aber in Wirklichkeit gehörten sie immer noch zu den USA. Es dauerte über 70 Jahre, bis es vollständig korrigiert wurde.

**Saved you a click:** The town was built after the Rio Grande was diverted. A border treaty in 1970 changed the border to match the river, leaving the town in Mexico.
So technically the US lost territory, I feel like that treaty would never happen today.
Ok, that’s some interesting geography and border zone stuff, but the “map”sucks.
