      In case anybody is personally concerned but not concerned enough to closely read the article, the Reddit user in question *already knows who they are*.

      So if you are currently not actively engaged in a legal battle to keep your identity anonymous, then you are not the user they’re looking for.

      This is asinine, the user has only exercised their freedom of speech and has reportedly committed no crimes. This is completely fucking unlawful and a clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

      It’s a huge threat to free speech – they haven’t identified anything criminal in the posts, but they still want the Reddit to supply the private account details. The government is going after speech they don’t like to chill free speech.
