      Yeah, that is quite a ridiculous statement, and quite offensive to Ukraine, when you consider the scale of death and destruction Russia has caused in that country. It’s not even comparable.

      I mean, this is objectively true. Historically, America has invaded/interfered with many more countries than Russia in the modern era, and caused way more deaths if you include indirect deaths.

      I can’t think of much over the last 12 months that the us has done that hasn’t been a directed and unprecedented benefit to Russia and Russian interests.

      This happens every time there is a Republican president. The enormous peaks and valleys of popularity of the USA especially in Europe swings almost completely on which party holds the White House.

      Republicans like to say the US isn’t respected on the world stage when democrats are in charge but they have been so shoot from the hip that they are feared without being respected. Like, who gave a toddler a gun level of fear versus respect.

      Spaniard here.

      We are scared of both Trump and Putin equally but for different reasons. Russia will intentionally launch a nuke, while Trump will accidentally launch one.

      It’s like having a trained assassin with a knife vs a toddler with a knife, both are dangerous.

      To be fair, the US has a much more functional military. If I had two unstable neighbors, one with a black powder rifle, and one with a bunch of AR-15’s, I know who I’d be more worried about.

      Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez is a consistent and staunch critic of Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, Musk, billionaires, anti-feminists, anti-immigrants, autocracy. Highly recommend watching clips of his speeches, conferences and interviews, if you want to resuscitate your faith in humanity, democracy, temperance, principle, comportment, and moral backbone.

      Also recommend checking out Ada Colau, former mayor of Barcelona who has been a long time advocate for Palestinian people and sovereignty. She recently was on one of the flotilla launches. She allied Barcelona with Gaza publicly years ago, long before it became politically advantageous.

      Spain had a civil war last century and was under fascist dictatorship until 1975, and has a vocal rising alt right party. Which is why PSOE, Colau, Sanchez, give me hope that America can have a political shift and a leadership that will work for human, compassionate, principled goals.
