Mr Geoghegan was also asked about his conviction on 13 charges relating to animal cruelty in 2006 after between 60 and 65 animals died on his farm in Cornaher, Tyrrellspass, Co Westmeath, during a 13-month period.
He was fined €6,250 in connection with a number of offences including leaving an animal with its head trapped, not providing water, not burying carcasses and not feeding animals a wholesome diet.
Seems like a good bloke

What a wanker
Gosh what no I’m shocked
And so it begins…..
They’re grinding the country to a halt and there’s fuck all that articles and the government can do about it.
If it was me I would walk away now. The damage is done. They have shown they can cripple the country.
We will see in the next few hours which way this will turn…….
That’s the gobshite I heard on the radio declaring that this is a revolution.
A whole new Ireland incoming apparently
Pretty disgusting behaviour. But is anyone surprised
Any of these spokesmen for the protesters are in for a shock with the Revenue.

It’s always the people you most expect.
Great representative.
Mr Geoghegan confirmed that a withdrawal of carbon tax was on the “list of demands” ahead of the meeting, and revealed that his carbon tax bill was €21,000, questioning: “Why should I pay it?”
He said Taoiseach Micheál Martin should write a cheque for €21,000 “and see how he feels about it”.
I like the idea of picking and choosing our taxes.
A rich, middle class, animal abusing tax fraud shutting down the country in an attempt to blackmail the government into giving him and his mates another handout (250m last week) on fuel they already pay less than half the tax on compared to everyone else (20% vs 55%) because two countries are fighting a war on the other side of the world we have nothing to do with, driving up costs and demand, all while the useful idiots book a week off work to scream about trans people and immigrants on O’Connell street, block emergency services everywhere else, and make increasingly clownish demands
Real champions of the people
Is anyone surprised? These guys are some of the dodgiest cunts in the country
One of the other protest leaders, Christopher Duffy, [spent three days in jail](https://m.independent.ie/farming/agri-business/three-nights-in-prison-almost-broke-this-agricultural-contractor/35623727.html#) for contempt of court as well as having judgments against him for not paying for his farming machinery. Bit of a theme emerging here. Maybe these „businessmen“ are just shit at making money and running their businesses.
Quelle surprise.
Reminder that the people leading this thing aren’t the working class or the poor struggling because of fuel hikes. They’re well-off agricultural contractors and large farmers whose profits are being slightly affected. However, they are trying to pass this off as an everyman, salt of the earth, regular people protest.
He came off awful in the interview in rte, not a shred of empathy for people needing the hospital. Evidently he doesn’t care who/what lives or dies.
Ah yes the Irish Barb Streisand effect. Also known as the Seamus Culleton effect.
Bully turns out to be a sack of shit. Who would have guessed
Would not be surprised if scumbag landlord too
Cunt has history of being a cunt.
And in other news, fire is hot…
Worth pointing out the huge amounts of money received by Donal Byrne, one of the organisers from the west of Ireland, has received in business supports from things like the LEO and others.
Like 90% of cattle farmers, low education shite bag.
Love in a market town in the west with a bunch of dip shits like this.
A pity he doesn’t like his animals and paying his tax the same way that he likes blocking peoples access to their roads , their fuel, their hospitals and their jobs.
Some leader ! Inspirational.
So he’s a tax dodger who is guilty of animal cruelty and he wants tax breaks from the government to prop up his current business and he’s willing to hold the country to ransom to get his way.
Yeah, he can fuck right off.
Absolute cunt.
All the people who support this. This is who you are supporting ffs.
Dublin feels like Gotham in the Dark Knight Rises. Except instead of Bane we got this moron.
Oh what a fine upstanding gentleman he is.
And everyone acting like he’s the new messiah.
Well well well.

Can we just break out the fucking teargas and be done with it?
A blockade, I’m not going to lend it credibility by calling it a protest, organised by morons, animal abusers, racist, tax frauds – and that’s just what we know so far.
These are not good people and they are claiming to be the champions of the people of Ireland.
Anyone supporting these people can get fucked.
A protest with nebulous, shifting and unreasonable demands.
tax dodger wants tax cuts
Surely not the same James Geoghegan who posts regularly complaining about asylum seekers and baselessly claimed migrants were being bussed in to communities to rig votes?
Jesus christ. Thats disgusting. He probably blames the government for his own massive faults. A lot of these lads have major chips on their shoulders. Another one of the main leaders went bankrupt because he’s a shite business man, ended up in prison for a night or two.
> “So there’s no problems, as of today, it’s up to date. They actually owe me money, would you believe?”, he added.
No, I wouldn’t.
I know it’s usually the biggest gobshites who’ll step up to a mic, but between this cunt and the fella from Meath whose social media posts are just endless vile racism, could they really not find any better representatives?
Go after their assets. Fuck them. Arseholes
Not in the least bit surprised. Absolute scumbag
has been obvious from the get go that everybody at the fore of this movement was some sort of asset rich businessperson. can’t believe all the rubes who went along with it in good faith asking for their taxes to go towards subsidising the businesses of clowns like this lol 👍
So this protest is basically racist far right cunts, tax dodging cunts, and cunts who abuse animals.
Send in the fucking riot squad ffs. Enough of this nonsense
Just your average struggling farmer…
Maybe they should have a word with their accountants, as their businesses in their current state are clearly not viable if we’re to believe the losses they say they are incurring.
Shocking to hear people on the radio defending it, their agenda flip-flops on the hour. Needs to be dealt with today, its setting a dangerous precedent.
*“I would be one of the leaders,” he told The Irish Times. He said he was asked to act as the public relations officer for a protest committee established in Portlaoise two weeks previously.*
*“It’s in our hands, we call the shots. Whatever we decide to do is what every one else will do.”*
The Right Honourable Mr. James Geoghegan
Malcontents and failures in life trying to grab their day in the sun. The worst of this country.
