      That’s interesting. Presumably bazillionaires monthly premiums will be proportionate too?

    2. I don’t see the problem with this.

      The only difference between income from investment and income from employment is that you actually work for the latter. I don’t see a reason that people who earn mainly from employment income should pay more than those who earn the same income but get more/all of it from passive investment income do.

      The „double taxation“ argument seems spurious too. Not only is this not a tax, its also doesn’t add any cost to investment income that people who earn employment income aren’t already paying.

      Plus given that most investment income is earned by the top 10% of earners this just reads like rich people complaining about having to pay for something they want others (ie people who earn from employment, who are on average poorer) to pay for.
