I wouldn’t consider security and company travel to be „pay“ for a CEO. Without that it’s $365k. That’s cheap for even a midsize company. Of course he got $100m equity to come aboard, so it’s not like he’s eating ramen with hot dogs unless he likes that.

$2.1 million is likely his base salary, not his total compensation. His made over $40 million with stocks included in 2024.
At that level, the company is supporting you in that role. If I need security, because of my job, that is a business expense, not a “perk” or compensation.
If your employer “puts” you in danger, they need at least a serious attempt to mitigate risk.
